Pre-Cut Melon Recall Due to Salmonella
« on: June 09, 2018, 05:22:27 PM »
From the CDC, emphasis mine:

Quote
Recalled products were distributed to Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Michigan, Missouri, North Carolina, and Ohio. Recalled products were sold in clear, plastic clamshell containers at Costco, Jay C, Kroger, Payless, Owen’s, Sprouts, Trader Joe’s, Walgreens, Walmart, and Whole Foods/Amazon.

The investigation is ongoing to determine if products went to additional stores or states.

Personally, I wouldn't eat them no matter which state I was in (and yes, I like melon, lol).
Christ my God, set my heart on fire with love in You, that in its flame I may love You with all my heart, with all my mind, and with all my soul and with all my strength, and my neighbor as myself, so that by keeping Your commandments I may glorify You the Giver of every good and perfect gift. Amen.

Why oh why would anyone buy pre-cut melon?

First it was the problem with those bags of pre-cut lettuce that are supposed to be "triple washed" and now melon.

I make sure to wash all my veggies and fruits at home very carefully before I cut it up and serve it to my family.

There are farms on this side of the border who have ties with farms on the other side of the southern boarder ~ I suspect some produce is packaged as ~ Grown in U.S.A. ~ that is trucked in from Mexico ```

Recently there was Romaine Lettuce that was tainted ~ one thing we had here was good clean food ~ but now ```

Because my heart isn’t made of stone. When I look into its little melon eyes, I can’t bear to pick up the knife.
