Update on my mother; It hurts to touch paper
« on: October 04, 2017, 01:31:35 AM »
So I am having a strange problem where it is increasingly painful for me to touch or handle paper, especially paper napkins, paper receipts and paper wrappings.  The glossy pages of well printed books are easier; coarser, older and dustier books are a bit harder.  Filling out forms has become...uncomfortable.

I am living in the desert, and I also have rheumatoid arthritis, which fortunately has not gotten any worse in my hands (my left hand is a bit better).

Please pray for me that this condition goes away.  I will be seeing the doctor if it doesn't.  If any of you have experienced anything like it, let me know.  It gets substantially aggravated if prior to touching the paper I use hand sanitizer, or drive my car with the steering wheel particularly hot.

On a far more important note, the removal of my mother's skin cancer was a success.  However, she is having extreme discomfort with ealkimg after the procedure; today, God willing, we will be going to get the stitches adjusted which will hopefully solve that problem, and then next week it should be possible to remove the stitches.

Mores antiqui obtineant.
The ancient ways shall prevail.

Lord have mercy
Christ my God, set my heart on fire with love in You, that in its flame I may love You with all my heart, with all my mind, and with all my soul and with all my strength, and my neighbor as myself, so that by keeping Your commandments I may glorify You the Giver of every good and perfect gift. Amen.

I'm with the camp of 13 million Americans that believe politicians are, or are controlled by, Reptilians. I think only monks can solve this problem. It doesn't seem right that they prefer to ignore it.

The problem you describe with paper is one that is a documented condition you can get therapy for . . .

My mother also has rheumatoid arthritis.  We try to get her to avoid any work with her hands in the household.  Also, a good rheumatologist will come a long way to keep your inflammation under control.  The condition does not go away by itself.  Your body's immune system is simply confused and it's attacking healthy cells in your body.  The flare-up you have now may go away, but you can get another, even worse flare-up in the future.  So you need to see a physician.
