I guess I should commend them for surviving the Youtube Adpocalypse while doing essentially the same thing they'd been doing all along. I can't help but somehow feel like something's been lost, though...

Dumping on Fifty Shades Freed for 25 Minutes

Hah! I was watching that just last night! I love Jenny Nicholson (though I'm guessing that her voice will instantly grate on some people).

Watch the one where she reads the bad Josh Hutcherson fanfic.

+1 Yeah, I've seen the Josh one a half dozen times now. A lot of her videos are like that for me, where I'll go back and rewatch them every week or two for a couple months.

Moral Orel

Probably never seen something as cynical as this. An excellent parody of certain kind of Fundamentalist lifestyle. The best thing is that it actually takes certain naive religious principles into their logical conclusion which for example takes the main character into drug addiction. Here's the first episode:

I never knew Motorola made any musical instruments myself! Only 25 were made, but they would have been just the thing for teaching the actual Byzantine chant scales.

Fun, fun. That non-apology they tweeted should be taught in Poli Sci classes.

I think all three of them deserve to do hard time for the way they treated Holly Brown. They won't of course, because contracts. But still.

I also wonder, in my not-lawyerly fashion, if that rigged game show is actionable. Seems like it should be.

What a mess...

I was mentally preparing myself for worse things to come out... but finding out about JewWario. God...

All I can say is that I hope the others really were ignorant of it when they did all those tribute videos.

To think that I felt bad when that jackass killed himself.

I wish Jacob Chapman would reveal the other sex abuse he says that he knows about. Rip off the Band-Aid.

But, that's something I don't have the right to ask for, obviously. I can see why he wouldn't want to.

If the others knew and did nothing while Michaud and the Walker Bros. freaking made ad-money...

...well, I'll do nothing but seethe impotently, now won't I, lol?

EDIT: Anyway, sorry for the rant. This is what I'm referring to. Already confirmed in it's major details by those who were there. It's reddit, so content caveats.

https://www.reddit.com/r/thespoonyexperiment/comments/8bryvd/the_identity_of_the_groomer_has_been_revealed_to/

TL;DR, the "nice guy" of Channel Awesome, Justin "JewWario" Carmichel, who everybody on the site mourned to the heavens when he shot himself four years ago, has been revealed to have been a rapist.

Now everybody including me is going through a "What did they know and when did they know it?" panic phase about everybody involved.

Lord have mercy

Lord have mercy! My goodness, what a tragic turn of events - the torment in that man's poor soul. May God truly have mercy on him!

Through confession of the Oneness

But yes, admittedly, I've somewhat followed the drama on YouTube, considering that I used to really watch Nostalgia Critic (not to sound too hipster, but from the time Nostalgia Critic came back, I lost interest due to imo low quality content and his ego taking front stage to content, which was really apparent to me when he came back).

Yes, I agree for his victims.

But JewWario is facing either heaven or hell (pre-Last Judgment) right now, and surely our prayers have the possibility of changing the outcome before the Great Judge opens the Book of Life and creates the definitive, eternal sentence.

I did like his editorials and the out-of-character talks with Rob a lot more than the NC, but now the context on all of it is just too gross to think about.

I've always been more of a Linkara/Lindsey Ellis/Phelous fan, anyway.

Mor Ephrem is a nice guy.  Just say sorry and it will all be ok. Say I had things that were inside troubling me but I didn't know how to express appropriately. I will not behave that way again but I am seeking help.

...if you feel Mor really is in spiritual danger, pray the Jesus prayer for him.   :police:

Wut?

It's what he called himself. A bit of self-deprecation, I guess.

I don't know about the idea that turning on Galileo was just a plot to copy the Protestants, but it's still an interesting video.

ELDERS PLAY THE LAST OF US (Elders React: Gaming)

I think this is the first 'react' video I've watched in, I dunno, like 8 years, and it went pretty much how I expected. "Too dark," "gee golly gosh such bad language!" "[complains] This is more like a movie than a game... [TIME FOR PLAYER TO PLAY] ... *does nothing and stares at screen as zombies kill them*"  etc. I do have to admit that the lady who was disgusted and said it was "sick" was pretty amusing. Guess that'll hold me for another decade or so.

WOMEN CAN'T READ

1. The fact that the term "fake reader girl" now exists makes me want to throw things.

2. Silly me for thinking that such a basic human pursuit as reading would be safe from the whinging of manbabies.

3. Note how much she has to bend over backwards at the end of the video to head off all the usual BS responses in the comments- the notallmens and what have you. *sigh* Just... screw comments sections.

4. I have a knee jerk negative reaction to Star Wars novels regardless of who's reading them and I find myself wishing she'd picked a better example of sci-fi lit, so maybe I'm part of the problem...

5. Thanks for making this channel known to me.

I guess the thing that set it off was a guy who made some comments about booktube women who wear makeup and have pro lighting and nice backdrops (or something like that), and all make the same videos about the same small number of books, and how he couldn't picture them being hunkered down and completely immersed in reading.

I just kinda stumbled on it when I began to type the name of the guy into the search bar (he was recommended by another person) and one of the search suggestions was "steve donoghue fake reader." One hour and many annoyed response videos later and here we are.  :police:

I like her channel as well... I hope she makes some more vids at some point.
