Very true, and I thank you for that.

My pleasure.  You're inspiring, as I can't imagine the crosses you have to bear.

Been married almost 6 years now...no kids yet. I really don't know why it hasn't happened, but lately I decided I won't get worried about it anymore. It is in God's hands.

4 kids.  Could have been 10  Shocked  except for the numerous miscarriages.  The 4th is our miracle baby, as we had long since given up hope of having a fourth, and then my wife ended up on mag. sulfate at the end just before the emergency C section.

OTOH, we're not Orthodox ... yet Smiley

Meet with the priest tomorrow to chat.  Biggest problem is I'll have to get a new license plate.

My wife and I were 'full quivers'.  We prayed that God would give us a full quiver of children.  We had fertility problems, one miscarriage and no offspring until God opened the way for us to adopt a newborn girl.  She is five now and has completely filled that quiver.  She is rambuncsious, gregarious, genetically programmed to get 300,000 words per day out of her mouth.  200,000 words of that are questions.  Our quiver couldn't hold another one.

Thus far we have 3; girl(10-01) girl (7-05) boy (5-07)

Like those before we would have 8 kids but for several miscarriages, we lost twins early 2nd/late 1st trimester and a singleton between girl one and two, and then another singleton between the last girl and our boy. And as a crazy (read-stupid drugg addicted) teen I lost a baby when I was 13 years old (my husband was not the father). We hope to add another 1-3 more kids in the future. Getting pregnant and staying pregnant are two completely different things, as we have found. Lord willing I will never have miscarriage #4.

Mr. Y and I have one girl, Caitlin, who is going to be nine months old in two weeks.  I also had a miscarriage not long ago, so I completely agree with you, Quinault.  It's so sad when it happens.

Miscarriages are so hard to bear-I've had 2.  We have 4 children so far and we're expecting #5 on Feb 2. They are boy-15, boy-7, boy-6, girl-16mo, and we're hoping for another girl this time.

My wife and I have just celebrated our 25th anniversary on July 30th.

We have only one child, a daughter, who is now 24.

When we just got married and had our daughter, my wife had one miscarriage after another. It was awful; once, a doctor told me that she had been close to death after a terrible blood loss. He also said that my wife and I had a blood group incompatibility, so that it is a mystery, a miracle that we had even one child.

After this sad experience, we started to use an artificial contraception method (barrier). Back then, we were not Orthodox yet (I was not even baptized at all and my wife was baptized, but not believing). So it did not even occur to us to ask for a priest's blessing to do that. We simply did what we both thought was good for our marriage.

We never adopted any children. Sometimes I regret that we did not. I love kids so much, and I miss having small kids, taking care of them. Those years when my daughter was a tiny baby and I fed her porrige for breakfast or read her some fairy tales were the best part of my whole life, absolutely. Smiley But then, thinking rationally, I understand that it was impossible for us to adopt. Before 1990, we lived in a tiny one-room apartment that was way too small even for the three of us. In 1990, we moved to the USA and began to live in slightly bigger apartments, and then in a house (since June 2000); but we always worked full time in science, which is hardly compatible with taking care of several children.

Now that my daughter is happily married, I am eager to become a grandfather. Smiley

Been married to a Princess now for 6 1/2 years (so I guess that means six months until we really hate each other  Wink )

And we got blessed with 5.

Samuel 5 1/2

Alexander 4

Nathaniel 2 3/4

Margaret 1 3/4 (she and Nate are a year and a day apart)

William 3 months.

It can be a bit tough, but life is sweet.

Isn't he just the most precious little one!  Oh my!  Sigh.....

I have two children.  Ian is 27 almost 28.  Brianna just turned 23.

I wish I had had more children.  Though I did childcare for a very long time thus was blessed to love and snuggle other people's little ones.   Smiley
