"Number" problems
« on: September 09, 2005, 09:25:50 AM »
I noticed two things today that I don't understand.

1.  A member who has a number after his posting-name has one number on his avatar and another on the new-posts listing on the home page.  What gives?

2.  Other members have "Logged" in the bottom right-hand corner of their posts, while mine display an IP address.  I run a firewall of course so I'm not worried about being "seen", but why is this?

LM,

Robert will answer better than me, but the IP address is only seen by you.  Meaning when others look at the posts, they see their own IP but not yours.

As for my number being 95 on my Avatar... I'm still looking for this one.

Erk.ÂÂ  I just figured out what happened to your number!ÂÂ  It is 99, but part of the second 9 is obscured because I didn't expand my window!

Multiple metanoias,

[Edited to add thanks for the explanation of why the IP address appears to the address-owner only]
