Just had to share this one!
Yesterday, one of my employees (a Roman Catholic) asked if she could come in an hour later this morning as there was a "Birthday Breakfast" for her "Mother" that she didn't want to miss out on.
It's taken me until now to realise that she had gone to Mass for the RC Feast of the Nativity of the Mother of God!
This pious "half truth"  pleases me no end!

Yup that is.  I would have to skip the first half of the day though since Liturgy doesn't end until close to 11 am on weekdays for me.

It's awesome that you let her go!!  Many employers wouldn't let anyone go to anything...even if it is constitutionally allowable.......
It is nice she actually had the faith to go to church.

This is not only a Latin Catholic Feast day.
The Greek Orthordox Metropolis of Toronto (Canada) celebrates the Bith of the Mother of Most Holy Theotokos and Athanasius on September 8th. I assume that they would be on the revised Julian Calendar ?
