What are they saying in the first part of this chant....I assume it is greek. They say something over and over again.

Tears just came to my eyes as I listened to this chant.....the spirit moved me with power.

The language is Slavonic they are reapeating Господий помилуй which means "Lord have mercy"

I should add that about half way through it changes to Κύριε Ελέησον which is the Greek for Lord have mercy.

The soloist is singing "Kyrie eleison"

It's pretty, but I like the chant without all the computerized repetitions and faked isons and ambient "ooo"s.
