The Georgian Orthodox Church protests against Catholic propaganda in
Tbilisi, August 25, Interfax - The Georgian Orthodox Church is
against 'We Build the Future' Roman Catholic Church's program in
Georgian secondary schools.
The statement of the Patriarchate circulated Thursday says that the
Georgian Church 'considers it impossible to create a religious
organization for popularization of Catholicism in secondary schools'.
'Such actions arouse justified public dissatisfaction and cripple
traditional relations with the Catholic Church', the statement reads.
Georgian mass media has reported earlier this week that the Roman
Catholic Church assigned over five million dollars for carrying out
'We Build the Future' program in Georgia intended to set up youth
religious clubs in schools.
