I near despise these people.
« on: March 31, 2016, 06:45:39 AM »
Or maybe just despise. But the tax collector's prayer is the Jesus Prayer, so....

I mentioned the whole get rich scheme my mother is being assaulted with. It is not a pyramid scheme or anything like that. Strictly speaking, it is legitimate. Practically considered, it is not so much so. I don't know. It's complicated in a way. It's not a scam per se. It is legit in a strict sense. It's Amazon, actually Amazon. You have your own company or something. You sell stuff. And something about investing. Here is where I decided that this guy was too rich and too in love with money and unscrupulous and stupid and ignorant and.....tells my mother she should take the money out of her retirement, and invest it in Amazon. No, that's imprudent. That's.....how dare he. Fast talking scoundrel. He should thank God there is a God, since fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom.

I was uneasy from the beginning. My mother is simple and good, I think I have said. And so she is easily tricked by these sorts of people with their fast tongues. It really makes me angry. I though of behaving like a jerk. But my mother would have said I was just being negative. You know that's another tactic: "You know, you have to separate yourself from negative people, and try something." It's one thing my being cynical, but I only get cynical at a certain point. My being cautious is not negative. I'd rather be negative. God bless cynicism against these sorts of people.

Basically, it's this marketing sort of thing with Amazon. It is under this guru named Dan Kennedy, whom I talked to today with my mother. Again, she is a simple woman you see, and this man is taking advantage of her I feel. He is fast talking. I about wanted to pull this ironic game. Here is how it would have gone:

<<I'm a communist, you see, so obviously I don't agree with all this, but I will do this for my mother.  I don't believe in God. So anything is justified, even murder. Now, rape is justified, but I would not rape, because I respect women. Women are equal, but they are to be defended. Murder is different. It is not dishonorable. You may be a thief, but there is no right or wrong. There is no God, and there is not right or wrong. But I could kill you if you scammed my mother. Not because you did some moral evil, but because she is mother. That is all. A familial bond. One of blood. Nothing more. There is no God. So you can scam people. I don't care. But if you were to scam my mother, you would do a wrong, in a very relevant, lack-of-a-better-word way. Truth is relevant, so when I say wrong, it is only wrong for my mother and me. It is to your benefit, so it is good for you. All there is is my justification. You have yours. I have mine. There is no God, so there is no universal law or justice. There is only our own. So we can steal, murder, and do what we have to get what we want. But I can kill you, or hurt you. And you can do the same to me. There is not God. There are no ethics. Only power, money and such things. There are family bonds, but that is but blood. It is not about honor, or anything like that. We are nothing but apes with reason. We come from apes. We are mere animals. We are at the top of the food chain, but we can be overthrown by chance. So there is no real family in the wishy-washy way people talk about it. But we can, and should even, protect our families. There is no love either, or hate, or anything like that. I would not act out of love. It would be an animal instinct to defend the tribe. >>

Note the irony, even the contradictions. Like Ivan in The Brothers Karamazov. There is no God, but the Church should be a major part of society, because without it, there is moral chaos. That is more or less the idea, if I recall. But Ivan may be being ironic. That is where they have the conversation--Ivan, Fyodor Pavlovich, Alyosha. Ivan is asked that if there is no God, is even cold blooded murder justifiable. Everything is, he says, without God.

Anyway, just wanted to vent. I would do that, if it would not be so imprudent and harmful to the situation. I have to stay calm, and use reason, and calm words. But it's not easy to get angry, and become cynical even. Cynicism is a natural response in such situations. Such people are not worthy of civil conversation, except for a great civil good. But hey, there is not civil good perhaps. We should say what we want! There is no God! There are not even teeth or lips or tongues!

Sigh...

I don't know why I wanted to play the ironic atheist communist amoral nonsense thing with him. "I could rape, but that would not be honorable [there is no honor, remember?]. Women are equal but women should be protected [ha! women are equal, so that makes no sense]. And the whole contradictions. It's wrong, but not morally wrong, but, yeah it's wrong, and there is no God, but it's wrong. I can kill you if you do my mother wrong, and it is no sin, but you can kill me. Survival of the fittest, because we're just apes. And why did I use rape? It's the most offensive thing I could think of, and I wanted something really bad to compare with murder. And the whole equality of the sexes, but women should be defended because that's what an honorable man does! But there is no good or bad! Ha! Ha! Ha! A put on madness. A Hamlet!

Maybe I just wanted to enjoy myself. Maybe I wanted to scare him. Maybe vent my dislike. I don't know. But I was polite and civil, though that does not mean I will not be in the future. I'll insult him and call him nasty names if I have to. I have no scruple about that. I can sleep the sleep of the just, because I have my honor--the defense of my mother, and the censure of the greedy man who defrauds.

That aside, I am worried about this. The ironic atheist amorality would have been a bad tactic. Made my mother really upset, which would have been very bad. Insulting him, at that moment, would not have been prudent. I still did not know enough really to say that he was scamming per se. But now I have more justification.

I really don't know what's going to happen. I am really worried about her taking that money out of her retirement in a rash act, convinced by some....well, I can't say it.

If you do not believe in God why do you ask for prayers?

Any investment scheme that begins "first, take money out of your retirement" is ipso facto a scam. You invest money you don't need, not money that you do.

This.  I would say it goes for any kind of savings.

Investment is a form of gambling.  Would you take out money from retirement or savings to go to the casino (supposing you aren't an addict)?  It's just that investment is whitewashed compared to blackjack.

Well, if you put your money in say, the S&P Index Fund, you have a much better chance of increasing your money over the long term than you do by playing blackjack.
God bless!

LOL! Read again! I said I was being ironic! You know, "I don't believe in God, so you can scam my mother, but I could kill you for it, and it would not be wrong. Not because there actually is a wrong, but because she is my mother. Family bonds...but we are but blood and cells...there is no love or real family...but I can defend my mother to the fullest. I have my justice, and you yours. There is not universal justice, because there is no God."

That was the idea. Not to threaten him. Just to be a jerk. Not to say: I will kill you. Just to be the rear end of a donkey.
