But vodka itself is not something that cheer you up (at least, it shouldn't). It's rather drinking vodka with someone.

Yes.  Unfortunately, most Indians I know don’t drink vodka.  I’m the only one.  #lonely

Oh, I'm so sorry!

I like bourbon. Vodka is sort of tasteless. You need to mix it.
It depends on type of vodka. The good ones, called "Żubrówka" ("Bison") or "Duch Puszczy" ("Spirit of the wild forest") are well know of their tastes, they're from Podlasie (the most Orthodox region in Poland). Also śliwowica made by Poles living in mountains (southern part of the country) has definitely a good taste,

Good work!

All I had to do was submit at least 10 works from their writing prompts. Anyone could make it, as long as they didn't get bored and wander off before they hit that number. Considering I'm only the 10th inductee, in a challenge that has been going on for 14 months and has over 700 submissions, that wandering off must happen a lot.

What gave me the warm fuzzies was that the message I received announcing my induction was not some automated form but an actual composition by an actual person (one of the challenge curators) that, aside from the announcement and the link to the signature badge I've earned, included actual feedback on my pieces - proof that they had read them, not just tallied them.

This is actually pretty true for littles.  And mine do still like boxes, just really big ones.  I was getting worried about their willingness to play outside, though, so it was good to be proven wrong.  :D  This branch is big enough for all three of them to sit/stand on.

A huge collection (nearly 300 works) of radio plays from the Greek national broadcaster archives, that some dedicated soul uploaded to the 'net for those of us who never managed to complete the set.

I know what it's like to be in a position where nothing seems to make life worth living, biro. :(

I wish I could give you some practical advice. I guess I just try to take a step back and try and reconnect with the things I used to enjoy. Sometimes trying to look at them with, for lack of something more precise, fresh eyes, helps me to remember why they enriched my life in the first place. Make any sense?

“There is much suffering,
But the church is alive. "

“How long, Archpriest, are we to suffer thus?” I answered: “Until our very death, Markovna!” And she replied, with a sigh: “So be it, Petrovich, let us plod on.” - Life of Avvakum by Himself

patient and do not cry:
Not every happiness
Comes in the clothing of fortune.

St. Ambrose, pray for us!

THE OPINIONS HERE MAY NOT REFLECT THE ACTUAL OR PERCEIVED ORTHODOX CHURCH

He starts it this early on purpose, and runs it the rest of the year, to make of the earlier and earlier Christmas ads.
Christ my God, set my heart on fire with love in You, that in its flame I may love You with all my heart, with all my mind, and with all my soul and with all my strength, and my neighbor as myself, so that by keeping Your commandments I may glorify You the Giver of every good and perfect gift. Amen.
