Is there such? A site were you can buy & sell stuff, new or used. There are such in Russian (allthough I haven't found one), but I would prefer if it were in English (as it's a bit tricky to translate ads with the help of a dictionary)! Does anyone know any such site in English?
I use MasterCard, PayPal, or Bank Transfer for payments.

Russian what?  Books?  Music?  Please be more specific.  I have no idea what you are talking about.

I live in Sweden a few months a year, and here marketplaces on the net are extremely popular in the capital, Stockholm, hardly anyone from the lowest class buys anything new if the item is available used from at least a dozen sellers (people still want to select from a variety of similar items). I can imagine that such is or should be extremely popular in for example Moscow or Piter. On these marketplaces the stuff is organized in categories, and it's possible to do keyword searches either within a category or in the whole marketplace. Some of the marketplaces (usually the better and most popular ones) have a possibility for used stuff advertisers to include a digital photo in the add, and that feature is used in little less than half of the adds.

So, preferably a marketplace that is as broad in scope as possible, but I also need all links to any popular specialised marketplaces. Links to marketplaces in both English and to ones in Russian, preferably to popular ones or that have a possibility to pay by MasterCard.

Yeah, partially far-fetched on my behalf.
My humble explanation:
It's extremely important for me to find a good marketplace, even in Russian if there's none in English, (because I long to support Russia and not only the local Helsinki market, it's a perserving personal strategy of mine). Russia is largely an Orthodox country, and this is the Free-For-All section. I would think some others on this forum would also be delighted to easily order stuff from Russia.

PLEASE, people, keep writing to this thread!

Thanks, ozgeorge, for igniting this topic. Yeah, looks like exactly what I need.
Very various items: Foodstuff, oilfired boilers, seasonal employment, clothes, Dutch tile splinter, welding sets, spectacle frames & -sidepieces ...

I am not quite sure what you need, but here are three sites.

http://market.yandex.ru/

http://pokupki.rambler.ru/?V=14204719&new_visitor=1

If you're looking for books and music, you can try RussianDVD.  http://www.russiandvd.com/store/

I hope this helps.

Better up! Lighten up!
Smiley Quick review of those links:
I'm actually a bit offended:
  • yandex looks like for geeks
  • rambler is the archetype of a $ store
I'm a househusband, I have no electronics (not even a calculator nor a computer, all we have is a radio/CD and a 20 year old TV) and I certainly don't intend to buy any, ever, I hope. I NEVER listen to music (havent for a decade now). I can take a peek at that book -section if there's an ISBN/ASIN -search possibility. What I was thinking to order right now was: substitute milk for the baby, a pair of black jeans, and spectacle frames.
Another correction: Just because I have MasterCard doesn't mean I have any $ on an account (I have a tiny saving in $ cash though), all I have is actually SEK (Swedish krona). Drawing conlusions from what I've read from books printed in about -97, I would not click away $ to anyone, I insist to pay in руб including NO further exchange (and I'll keep doing so unless Russians start taking EITHER € banknotes/bills OR €-баночная).

...Conlusion: keep hitting me with more URLs, folks!

Substitute milk in most Russian cities comes from Europe, black jeans come from China, and glasses frames come from either Europe or China.

I suggest you look at a Chinese site.

If you feel good about this thread and would hint me with an URL or a name of a store, then DON'T read this post people just require me to explain and explain myself forever. Read this post if you need more explanations.

AnthonyPL! Nothing personal from my side, , and I don't take what you say personally, but anyway:
Another remark??! I'm baffled about how many presuppositions there are abou me!! EVERYBODY STOP ATTACKING ME AND MAKING ME LOOK LIKE A FOOL, I'VE GOT AN UNUSALLY GOOD ALL-ROUND KNOWLEDGE ON MOST SUBJECT'S YOU PEOPLE EVEN CAN THINK OF! For one thing, I've read several short courses in business economics and I'm very aware of where anything comes from. Each and every time I buy anything, no matter how small, big, important or unimportant, I always check where it's manufactured and I never buy anything manufactured in Asia, almost everything I buy is manufactured in the same country as where I buy it, and I'm not even satisfied with that but I always locate every local producer or factory, no matter where I am. Doesn't always waste a lot of time, I've become effective at it.

What can be the reason for that I'm asked to explain myself so much here. What kind of a person do you think I am? I'm frank and open. I have horribly bad memory and I'm the opposite to a swotter, I lack practical common sense in many areas, and I would estimate my IQ to 90, but so far I have beated MOST people I've met in the subjects I'm really interested in, if not straght away then after having learned essentialitis from the people I've met that were better than me on the subject in question.

It will be interesting to se what further posts there will be in this topic.
