« on: September 11, 2015, 02:37:37 PM »
Today marks the 14th anniversary of the terrorist attacks of 9/11 that were committed by Muslim extremists and killed 2,977 human beings.

God have mercy on the victims, and grant them peace. God please help and stand by the victims families on this day, and grant them peace of heart and mind, not the peace of this world, but your heavenly peace. God have mercy on us and on this earth today, your handmade. And protect us while we are facing the same Islamic Terrorism. In Christ's name, Amen.

Lord, have mercy. May their memories be eternal.
Psalm 37:23 The Lord guides a man safely in the way he should go.

I think the Orthodox Church of St. Nicholas, which was destroyed in the attack, has not yet been rebuilt. Let's all pray so that it may be restored soon.

Kontakion in Tone 8
(to the special melody 'To thee the Champion Leader')

Ye faithful witnesses, heroes who gave their last measure of love
In Shanksville, Arlington, and in Manhattan
At the Trade Center, ye joined the holy relics
Of Saint Nicholas and Saint Sava the sanctified
In a cloud that showed forth your last devotion
By your example we sing:
O Lord Jesus, be our comfort and strength.

Memory eternal.  Intercede for us, holy martyrs of 9/11!  Lord have mercy and grant eternal rest, comfort and salvation to all of the victims of 9/11 and their families, through Thine infinite mercy.

Council of Nicea:
Εθη ἀρχαῖα κρατείτω.
Mores antiqui obtineant.
The ancient ways shall prevail.

The sentiment of Nicea in Greek and Latin, translated into English.
