I started reading "Waiter Rant" a blog by a man who works in a bistro in New York City. Some of his entries are funny. Some are sad or make me want to cringe with the rude, or clueless or self-centered behaviour of some of the patrons. I'll neve eat at a restaurant again and not be aware of what waiters and waitresses have to go through... and to tip them a good percent. The language is sometimes a bit loose, with the common 4 letter words, but "Waiter" has some very good things to say.
"Waiter" was once an RC seminarian about 15 years ago. The entry for this past Tuesday "Nunc Dimittis" starts with 3 priests coming in for a meal and then goes to a meditation on an occurance that led to Waiter not continuing in the priesthood. Not a scandal like in the papers, but a serious thing.
Again, I must warn you, that Waiter uses profanity sometimes. But the entry is one that I think more people should read.
