Dear Friends,
A family from my church is presently in China, and the couple's 3 month old baby is suffering from something which is making it so his blood won't clot. The hospital they are at in China is international and is the best there, and the child is getting very good care, but the doctor has called the condition "life threatening." The baby and his father were received into the Church on Bright Saturday of this year, so he (the father) and I were catechumens together. The whole parish has been asked to pray for them...the baby's name is Elias, please keep Elias, David and Emilita in your prayers.

an update:
Elias is still in the hospital in China, but the parents are a little less worried. The baby is getting good treatment and is no longer in any immediate danger. He still needs more tests though, to determine his diagnosis, and the parents are trying to decide whether to stay in China or come back to the US early to get treatment here.
