As some may know, Bill O'Rielly and I had kind of a falling out. However, I have discovered a conservative pundit that I can actually like: TUCKER CARLSON.
The fact that so many liberals protested PBS' decision to give Carlson a show is absurd. Now he is on MSNBC and his new show is awesome.

1) How did you and O'Reilly have a "falling out" if he has no idea you exist?

2) Tucker Carlson is a schmuck plain and simple.  Although I'm sure I agree with a lot of his points, as I would tend to agree with more points that conservative pundits make, being Orthodox and all, that still doesn't mean that Tucker Carlson isn't a complete schmuck.  Actually, I like the Jewish/Hebrew word schlameel better - it's more derogatory.  I'll try and research (over the next few days - I'm busy) this video clip from a Crossfire episode where Jon Stewart completely killed Tucker and whoever-the-heck was with him.  They completely missed the point of what they were talking about (and the point was that Crossfire didn't really have a point and needs to and The Daily Show doesn't have a point and doesn't need to).

I was an O'Reilly fan until I learned of his questionable tendencies.

2) Tucker Carlson is a schmuck plain and simple.

Really? Carlson is discarded foreskin?

I'll try and research (over the next few days - I'm busy) this video clip from a Crossfire episode where Jon Stewart completely killed Tucker and whoever-the-heck was with him.

This was Tucker's response to John Stewart:
Stewart is "the most sanctimonious comedian I've ever met..."

No matter how funny Stewart is, you've got to admit that this is true.

You should give Tucker's show a chance. He is not a Republican apologist like others but he actually thinks for himself and happens to oppose the Iraq war.

Matthew777,
Watch this.  The words are from someone else, but I completely agree.

Quote from: some other guy from another message board
http://www.ifilm.com/ifilmdetail/2652831

Warning: sound, and it's a 13 minute clip.

Begala and Carlson didn't quite seem to get the point Stewart was trying to make.
OTOH, Stewart lost a little credibility when he called Carlson a dick...

Perhaps Stewart should stick to fake news and let Carlson do his job.

Did you watch it?  Maybe you should watch it again.  The point is that Carlson and that other guy aren't doing their job - their show is being disingenuous and/or misleading and Stewart called them on it.  There isn't real debate on the issues, but political cheerleading for both sides...and I disagree with Carlson, Stewart WAS funny on that clip.  Why else was the audience laughing?  I seriously doubt is was just due to prompts.

Anyways, this thread probably violates the ban on political discussion or at least flirts dangerously close to that line.

Carslon is not a cheerleader for either side. For a conservative, he is independent and freethinking. He is not a Republican partyliner and he surprisingly opposes the Iraq war.

Tuker Carlson and Jonah Goldberg are the only reasons I voted Republican in the last election.  Honestly, I think they represent where the Republican party should be trying to go.

So far, I have not heard anything on his show that would make him out to be a partison Republican, though I could be mistaken.

I saw the clip of Stewart ripping Carlson and the other dude.  Really, it was pretty trumped up.   All Stewart did was throw out some slogans and tell Tucker he was a jerk.  I'm not a big fan of Carlson, but he's allowed to have his opinions.  Besides, the tie is adorable.

There was some substance.  Stewart pointed out that the show is disingenuous.  They CLAIM to have real political debate, but in fact just have political cheeleading for each side.  Stewart, as a comedy show host, has absolutely NO responsibility to actually address political points or people with substantial remarks.  But Crossfire DOES and they just don't live up to it.

Bwahhhhhahahahah!  Yeah, whatever.  When I think of bowtie, I think of the old professor type who gets killed in Monty Python and the Holy Grail.  Granted, I'm a guy, but I don't see how you can say some talking head in a suit wearing a BOWTIE, that ALSO comes across as a schmuck, is sexy.  Whatever.

Oh, and with a name of "Tucker Carlson"?  Please.

More to the point though, I want Mathew to stop looking up to pop culture icons.

Your first clue might have been when the children mocked Elisha and called him "you baldhead" (2 Kings 2:23-24) Wink

But I guess I shouldn't assume that most Christians (even those who pontificate on theology fora) have actually read the Old Testament...

What, is that Slavic?

No, Slavic (Biblical names) is based on Greek.

Elisha is Elisaie (LXX) and Slavs rendered it Elisie or Jelisie, Serbs have it as Jelisie. (LXX has it in III Kings XIX, 19 onwards)

Elisha is not slavic, nor Greek... Probably Anglo-Saxon (not sure).

Correct M777 They are NOT the same person. Elijah and Elisha are not one the same person.

Elisha is Elijah's succesor. Also Elisha is witness to Elijah's translation.

Compare:
1 King. XIX,16-21.
2 King. II, 1-18.

I never worshipped Carlson, I just appreciate his sense of humor and positive attitude, qualities which other television commentators are in dire need of.
