This morning I was chrismated and received into the Orthodox Church.  Thanks to everyone for their prayers and support.

BTW, I was all excited to be taking the catechumen out of my profile but the religion thing seems to have disappeared???

Yes, I'm now the newly illumined Anna.  My middle name is Ann and I've always considered St. Ann (Mary's mother) to be my patron saint.  I also considered St. Genevieve (French for Jennifer) but decided to stick with Anna.

Yes, Congrats.  Now, the realy battle begins...to persevere and STAY Orthodox.  Unfortunately, with so many people moviing away (economic reasons) and those that have actually lapsed or left the Church from my parish over the past year, this challenge is especially on my mind.

Sealed!

Hey are the same guy from the Crowhill board?  I just popped over there to see if there was a response to my announcement.  There are 7 pages of responses!  Seriously.   Shocked  All of the Catholics are offended because I wrote that I renounced my former delusions.  All I was doing was reporting what happened during the liturgy and all hell broke out.  A good example of why it's best not to discuss religion on-line.

Jennifer,

Congratulations!!!!  If you get the chance, describe your day for us!

Also, may you get the joy of putting "Orthodox" in your box here!

Did you ever get that pedicure you were thinking about?  lol   I'm sure that was the furthest from your mind during your Chrismation.

I'm really happy for you!    I have no doubt you will ever fall away!

The shocked face is supposed to be a smiley, I put it in the old fashioned way, and that is what came up.   It's that old colon thing.

Hi Irene.  No I didn't get a pedicure but I did paint my toenails.

It was very nice.  Although I didn't really feel different after it.  You think it's going to be some spiritual thing but God doesn't work like that.  I got a little emotional and thought I might tear up right before I received communion but my 'rational' side took over and I didn't make a spectacle of myself.

I had the exact same thoughts after my chrismation.

Congrats to you!
