Glory to God!  May this bear fruit.
I'm with the camp of 13 million Americans that believe politicians are, or are controlled by, Reptilians. I think only monks can solve this problem. It doesn't seem right that they prefer to ignore it.

I am not sure when it was published.  The news is recent enough that it was shared by my diocese on FB.

What a beautiful couple of images to see! It is always pretty to see people honoring Our Lady Theotokos :)
I'm sure it makes her smile.

On a side note, I wish the Eastern Orthodox Church Bishops would put birds on their shoulders.

Consecration of Ethiopian Tabots

On the evening of Thursday, August 24, 2017, the clergy and faithful of the Ethiopian Orthodox Archdiocese of New York gathered at the historic Holy Trinity Cathedral in the Bronx to consecrate a pair of tabots - sacred altar stones, without which a church's altar is not considered valid - for the chapels of the newly dedicated Kidane Mehret Kidane Selam Hermitage and Women's Monastery, which is presently being established in New York's Catskill Mountains.

The tabots were consecrated by H.E. Abune Thaddeus, Archbishop of the Ethiopian Orthodox Archdiocese of the Caribbean, and H.E. Mor Titus Yeldho, Archbishop of the Malankara Archdiocese of the Syriac Orthodox Church.

H.E. Abune Zekarias - Archbishop of New York,  is presently traveling in Ethiopia and could not attend.

So we have 7 Tunes plus an Ethiopian tune...

I feel the sudden need to try to Copticize the Hymn now

Look close at the photograph of St. Mary's Coptic Orthodox Church in Roswell, Georgia and you will see a vertical CRACK in each door. These doors were 'cracked' before my eyes on successive Wednesdays in Prayer before the start of Divine Liturgy in the Fall of 2006 and confessed to Priest Luke, Priest Elias Eskander and the Elder passing out the bread after each occurrence. H.G. Bishop Youssef is informed, too. This photograph was taken on Mubarek Liberation Day. Oddly, the Elder (who refused to give me his name) made an appearance investigating the presence of the photographer there that afternoon as a meeting was underway at the new fellowship hall next door on that auspicious day. I had to go back to the Van to get the umbrella and the Elder made an appearance to quiz the photographer, 'what are you doing here'. When the Elder saw me, I confessed my purpose there was to photograph my appearance before the 'cracked doors' remember me? I asked. He ran. Greg Diehl and I both laughed as the significance of the day and the former occurrence had been confessed to him, too. The angst confessed in prayer at the time was in grief over disobedience to the Divine Mandate to attend service at St. Gabriel E.O.T.C. in Decatur, Georgia on Atonement Day. I couldn't go back to St. Gabriel after the failure. I missed the elevation of the monk/priests in ceremony to Bishop by the Holy Synod of the Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahedo Church in Washington D.C. in 2007. This unrighteous Steward is senior to those Bishops. In Luke, Then the steward said within himself, ‘What shall I do? For my lord taketh away from me the stewardship. I cannot dig; to beg I am ashamed. I am resolved what to do, that when I am put out of the stewardship, they may receive me into their houses.’ So he called every one of his lord’s debtors unto him, and said unto the first, ‘How much owest thou unto my lord?’ xvi. 3-5

The sixth hour will literally take one hour.  :P

You underestimate the power of Coptic melismatic chant to extend the services.  "oooooooo yoooooouuuuuuuun whoooooooooooo areeeeeeeee ouuur sheephaaaaaaaaaaard" et cetera.  I think a four hour duration is well within the realm of possibility.

I know it's probably a combination of the blurriness of the photos and my imagination, but he looks like he's a happy kid in a candy store.
I have now seen two baby spiders over the last several days, each perhaps 2mm long. Sure they're harmless now, but what about when they grow up? They probably know that I killed their mom.

Yesterday there was an evening because of the jubilee of 650 years of the existence of the Armenian Orthodox diocese in Poland (well, after the second world war and the change of borders there is no more Armenian bishop in Poland; actually, there is only one Armenian priest, so Armenian services are in various churches, including of the Polish Orthodox Church; some Armenians attend our Polish Orthodox services).

It was quite big event, with some lectures, concert of the archidiocesan choir „Tsaghkazard” , Armenian food and wine. I took a few pictures (by phone, so the quality is bad) and two videos:

https://photos.app.goo.gl/vPJdzTfQHrQ2qpap1

It's nice that the clergy of the Polish Orthodox Church was invited (metropolitan Sava couldn't attend, but there were 2 priests). I pray every day for the Orthodox (EO and OO unity).

I found on Youtube some songs and chants presented yesteday:

The Armenian Church is the unique Oriental Orthodox Church in Poland (it also applies to the past). For a few years there have been celebrated Coptic Liturgies once a month - a Coptic priest comes there from Germany.

How come there was an Armenian diocese in Poland from the XIV century? These guy are everywhere!  :D

Yeah, Armenians in these terms are close to Jews. And it's because of their difficult history.
They came to Poland en masse, being mainly traders and jewellers, via Crimea, after the fall of Ani.

After the union with Rome in XVII there was a kind of assimilation, so nowadays there are quite a lot of Poles with Armenian roots (it's visibl sometiems because of their apperance, and surnames like Isakowicz, Bohosiewicz, Teodorowicz). Some famous Polish poets were, at leastly partly, of Armenian descent.

I agree, but let's never tell this to them unless we're up to master trolling.  :P

His Grace Zachariah Mar Nicholovos, Metropolitan of the Northeast American Diocese, and President of the Department of Ecumenical Relations of the Malankara Orthodox Syrian Church, met with His Holiness Irinej, Archbishop of Pec, Metropolitan of Belgrade-Karlovci, and Patriarch of the Serbian Orthodox Church.
Along with His Grace, Reverend Father Abraham Thomas, Secretary of the Ecumenical Department and Reverend Father Aswin Zefrin Fernandis, Executive Secretary of the Ecumenical Department, visited the Primate of the Serbian Church.

His Grace offered the fraternal greetings of His Holiness Moran Mar Baselios Marthoma Paulos II, and gifted the Patriarch with a hand cross on behalf of the Primate of the Malankara Church.

The Ecumenical Department of the Malankara Church discussed how the relationship between both Churches can be strengthened. The Malankara Orthodox Syrian Church and the Serbian Orthodox Church have preserved a warm relationship since 1936. This relationship blossomed under the initiative of Saint Dositej Vasic of Zagreb when the saintly confessor visited Kerala, India. During Saint Dositej’s trip to India in January 1937, he shared of his great admiration for the courage of Hindus who converted to Orthodox Christianity. Metropolitan Dositej later spent time at our Orthodox Theological Seminary in Kottayam, India and met with His Holiness Catholicos Geevarghese II of thrice blessed memory. Upon his return back to Serbia, he shared of his travels and encounter with the Indian Church with His Holiness Patriarch Varnava of blessed memory which began a more formal relationship and dialogue with the Serbian Patriarchate.

In 2010, His Grace, Metropolitan Dr. Gabriel Mar Gregorios, represented the Malankara Orthodox Syrian Church at the patriarchal enthronement of His Holiness Irinej. It is also worthy to note, Metropolitan Zachariah Mar Nicholovos, works closely with His Grace Bishop Irinej of Serbian Orthodox Diocese of Eastern America, on the Board of Trustees at St. Vladimir's Orthodox Theological Seminary.

His Holiness Patriarch Irinej, conveyed the love and prayerful greetings of the Serbian Orthodox Church, to His Holiness the Catholicos of the East, the Hierarchs, clergy and faithful of the Malankara Church.

Gotta love the Syrian turbinas.

I'm with the camp of 13 million Americans that believe politicians are, or are controlled by, Reptilians. I think only monks can solve this problem. It doesn't seem right that they prefer to ignore it.
