Here's a video about the Armenian cathedral. Hope it's the right clip. :)

Would you be able to find the video again and post it?

Found it:

Another Armenian question.  I was watching this, which I presume to be the consecration video of the Armenian Cathedral in Moscow.  I will provide the link, but just in case the link does not redirect clearly, there is a part of the video, starting around 11:30, where the Catholicos takes dove statue.  I'm taking an educated guess and say that's what we call the "Myron" oil coming out of it (and an interesting touch with the use of the wings being spread as it is poured).  Am I correct?  When did this tradition begin?  Is it supposed to be an iconographic representation of the Holy Spirit?  What is he and the choir chanting as he pours from it three times?

Fantastic!  This has to be from the Addis Ababa Conference.  Where'd you find it?

Here are some pictures from the local Coptic Church.

The icons are by the hand of Fr. Theodore Jurewicz, who is an archpriest of the ROCOR.

It looks like a cross-bread between Greek and Neo-Coptic types.  I like Jurewiczian iconography  ;)

That epitrachelion is a pretty standard Greek priest's epitrachelion.

Ya this is the "Queens" Coptic Church.  This is the third Coptic Church built in the U.S., so it is "historical" (first in NY)

That is not bad aesthetically. Still better than Vatican II.
This profile is defunct as of 11/8/2017. I created it before Orthodoxy, and have used it after Orthodoxy.

I reject all that I wrote that isn't in accordance with the teachings of the Orthodox Church. Also, my posts reflect my opinions (present or former) and nothing else.

I will likely lurk on this forum under a different name.

St Theodora, the believing queen

I want this icon!  Please tell me where I can order one.  I love St. Theodora.
I'm with the camp of 13 million Americans that believe politicians are, or are controlled by, Reptilians. I think only monks can solve this problem. It doesn't seem right that they prefer to ignore it.

1. Not sure. I just found the pic on Google images.

2. I'm not sure where you can order said Icon, I found this image on the SOC's Facebook page.
"I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live: And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die [...] These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world." -The Lord Jesus Christ

So that's what it looks like when a priest fully vests...  :P
LOL.
Somewhere on Athos, Antonis groans, and the skulls of the holy brethren with him!

"This is the one from the beginning, who seemed to be new, yet was found to be ancient and always young, being born in the hearts of the saints."
