Question a friend, perhaps he did not do it; but if he did anything so that he may do it no more.
A hasty quarrel kindles fire,
and urgent strife sheds blood.
If you blow on a spark, it will glow;
if you spit on it, it will be put out;
                           and both come out of your mouth

Took this today, as I live next to the cathedral:
https://instagram.com/p/1Ob19Ugzog/
She hears, upon that water without sound,
A voice that cries, “The tomb in Palestine
Is not the porch of spirits lingering.
It is the grave of Jesus, where he lay.”
We live in an old chaos of the sun,
Or old dependency of day and night,
Or island solitude, unsponsored, free,
Of that wide water, inescapable.

This picture shows a unique Malankara tradition. It is called 'Vidyarambham' and is borrowed from the Hindu culture. 'Vidyarambham' means 'initiation of knowledge'. In this picture you can see a little girl with a white head scarf being initiated into the characters of the syllabary by the Abbot of Malekuriz Dayara ; Mor Dioscorus.  H.G is helping the little girl write with her fingers on a plate with rice.

I can't believe I never looked through this thread until now. Such beautiful pictures! Just looking through them, I'm reminded what drew me to Orthodoxy in general, and the Oriental communion in particular, in the first place. This is a blessing.

Am I wrong in thinking that this is a Georgian Easter greeting being imposed on a photo of an Armenian Orthodox Liturgy?  What a fail...

Unless the Armenians issued an Easter Greeting in Georgian, you are correct. Epic fail!

I like the red of those eggs... They're usually not that dark.

The trick is to use brown eggs.

When you boil onion skins in water, it makes a very strong reddish-brown dye.  It's a natural dye, when you think of it.

If you want to make a pattern on the eggs, before you put them in the pot you can use thread to secure pieces of cilantro to them.   Then you get the imprint against the eggs when they are done.
