One foot in the cradle

Yes, Serbs like thier conspiracies and I'm no exception.  Grin  If a Mod feels this subject gets too out of hand feel free to scoot it over to the "Free for All" board. Where I work is probably like many other places a blue cube Dilbertian landscape and a healthy affection for Steven Covey. Myself, I have read Seven Habits of Highly Effective People and thought to myself..."Oh it's just another organization guru of the month and someone else will come along that will be bigger and more effective that Covey". Until some of my co workers really began frothing at the mouth in near relgious fervour over Covey. Thus, causing me to be skeptical of his book and teachings. So I started doing some digging on the net. I have found a couple of things... but I"m not sure of thier validity.

I don't want to unknowingly support and perpetuate Mormon doctrine. Does anyone know of any materials that debunk Covey? Is this just Harry Potter-esque hoopla and I need to get over myself and ignore the Covey zeolots?

Thoughts?

The Seven Habits of Highly Effective People has nothing in it that self-help gurus have not been saying for over 50 years.

Just look at the books/CD's from others such as Brian Tracy, Dennis Waitley, Tony Robbins, Jim Rohn, Earl Nightingale, etc. basically any Nightingale-Conant author.

He may be a Mormon - but what he is teaching is not Mormon based.
