The passages I've read from his novel are rather perverse.

I have to admit that I am a regular O'Reilly viewer and I was shocked by the lawsuit. When I read the suit at thesmokinggun.com I became skeptical. O'Reilly, from what friends and people have met him have said, is a rather cheap and quiet guy who is not known for bragging or outlandish statements. This whole suit is based off alleged incidents where O'Reilly brags about sexual experiences and tries to engage Ms.Mackris in sexual conversations. Often the stories seem clich+¬d and made-up (wild Scandinavian stewardesses and Thailand sex shows). Of course all this happened several months ago and what sticks in my mind is Keith Oberman's coverage of it. He seemed to devote every show for a whole week to making fun of O'Reilly. I am not convinced by the 'evidence' or the allegations of Ms.Mackris but I would not put anything past anybody. The two questions that stick in my mind are why would Mackris have settled out of court if she had a good case? and why did O'Reilly settle unless he could not prove her case frivolous? Right now I am 80% this was a clever shakedown and 20% O'Reilly engages in aberrant sexual behavior as do many so-called moral conservatives.

I also found this to be rather interesting...

"Fox Host in Hot Seat For Uses of Questionable Ethnic Term
By Jeff McKay
CNSNews.com Correspondent
February 12, 2003

(Editor's Note: Contains language some readers may find objectionable.)

(CNSNews.com) - The host of the highest rated primetime news program on cable television is facing criticism after using a disparaging term for Mexicans during a broadcast last week.

Fox News commentator Bill O'Reilly, host of The O'Reilly Factor program, used the term "wetback" during a Feb. 6 discussion of immigration problems along the U.S. - Mexico border.

During a segment of the show featuring Rep. Silvestre Reyes (D-Tex.), O'Reilly advocated the use of military forces to control illegal immigration and smuggling along the border, saying "We'd save lives because Mexican wetbacks, whatever you want to call them, the coyotes, they're not going to do what they're doing now, so people aren't going to die in the desert," according to a transcript of the program."

This is just one sexually explicit part of Bill O'Reilly's Those Who Trespass:

If people wish to read explicit details they are quite capable of following the links provided earlier. Posting any more of this nature will get you a warning. It is wholly inappropriate to post such material on a Christian and especially Orthodox forum.

I never heard of the novel but just looked it up at Amazon. I am suprised O'Reilly decided to write a novel.

As for the racy quote, crime novels often are filled with explicit sex scenes and I can't imagine Bill O'Reilly wanted to be any different. When I was in High School I seriously wanted to join the FBI and be in Behavioral Science. I read several books and cases and eventually just got sick reading about what serial killers do to their innocent victims. It still gives me bad dreams and I am sure I will be plagued by images of torture and death for the rest of my life. Anyway, I think you would suprised just how explicitly pornographic many True Crime let alone fictional crime novels get. There are some books I read which made me wonder if the author sympathized with seriall killers and rapists!

As for what it may indicate about O'Reilly: it indicates he is trying to follow what others do or is perverted.
My scales have tipped after reading that. Now my view of the suit is:
40% shakedown 60% O'Reilly is a perv.

Sabbas,

I can tell you this about O'Reilly, I personally know Ben Morelli (the attorney handling the initial civil matter against him). He had the goods on O'Reilly and that is why you had a quick settlement.

Ben Morelli isn't going to come out as strong as he did publicly with a pair of deuces. He was playing with a full house all the way, O'Reilly knew it, settled in hurry and had plaintiff sign a confidentiality agreement (encapsulating all of the incriminating evidence). There are many schmucky attorneys in the NYC that might not have had the goods... Ben did and everyone knew it.

I think anyone who puts themselves out on national tv, night in and night out and plays that pious, better be sure he's squeaky clean. O'Reilly is FAR from squeaky clean.

"OCTOBER 13--Hours after Bill O'Reilly accused her of a multimillion dollar shakedown attempt, a female Fox News producer fired back at the TV star today, filing a lawsuit claiming that he subjected her to repeated instances of sexual harassment and spoke often, and explicitly, to her about phone sex, vibrators, threesomes, masturbation, the loss of his virginity, and sexual fantasies. Below you'll find a copy of Andrea Mackris's complaint, an incredible page-turner that quotes O'Reilly, 55, on all sorts of lewd matters. Based on the extensive quotations cited in the complaint, it appears a safe bet that Mackris, 33, recorded some of O'Reilly's more steamy soliloquies. For example, we direct you to his Caribbean shower fantasies. While we suggest reading the entire document, TSG will point you to interesting sections on a Thailand sex show, Al Franken, and the climax of one August 2004 phone conversation."

I think the allegations against O'Reilly are probably true but that doesn't stop me from watching his show every once in awhile. I think out of all the news shows his is the best. Compared to the other news hacks, he has the most journalistic integrity and he treats all his guest in a very fair manner. I also like some of the topics he covers in exposing sham operations like Amnesty International or the ACLU. Common sense is this guys nack.
