Selected Letters of Severus of Antioch
« on: October 21, 2014, 07:02:49 AM »
I just got a copy of the "Selected Letters of Severus of Antioch" but I don't have too much time on my hands for reading these days. Are there any particular sections that you would recommend I read in order to get the best sense of, first, Severus' Christology, and second, his objection to Chalcedon?

I would probably say about the first quarter of the letters give or take some would be the majority of his Christogical and Trinitarian theology.  A lot of his other letters is either something personal, canonical practices, or an exegetical answer to some verses in the scriptures.
Vain existence can never exist, for "unless the LORD builds the house, the builders labor in vain." (Psalm 127)

If the faith is unchanged and rock solid, then the gates of Hades never prevailed in the end.
