Fr. Kenneth Bracy has been accused of impregnating a woman parishioner who
came to him for marriage counseling, leaving Alaska without the knowledge or
blessing of his bishop, and shipping church property out of the state prior to
his departure.
Fr. Kenneth is a married priest and was most recently the pastor of St.
James the Just Parish in Anchorage AK (ROCOR). He was suspended from the
priesthood by His Eminence Archbishop Kyrill of San Francisco and Western America on
October 29/November 8, 2004 (Decree No. 22E/2004).
Fr. Kenneth attended St. Tikhon Seminary for a year. He was ordained to the
diaconate on January 30, 2000, and then to the priesthood on February 5,
2000, by then Archbishop Herman (now Metropolitan Herman) on behalf of
Metropolitan Theodosius of The Orthodox Church in America. He was assigned to the
TOCA church in Old Harbor AK. He was suspended from the priesthood on December
27, 2001 and "removed" from the priesthood on April 3, 2003 by TOCA.
According to an item in the Anchorage Daily News, Fr. Kenneth was named as the pastor
of St. James the Just on December 27, 2001.
Some of you may remember that Fr. Kenneth officiated at the funeral services
of the TOCA bishop, Innocent, after his death on May 6, 2002. The Anchorage
services were held at St. James the Just.
