My eldest nephew had surgery during his first week of life, and because he was so little, they left tubes in him, etc...until he got older (1 year) in order to complete the surgery. 

Thank God for his surgeon, who did an excellent job and made it so he has no issues from his initial complications.

However, that first year of life he was on antibiotics all the time...due to the tubes, etc.

He is now allergic to peanuts, latex, cats, etc.

Nobody else in the family is....neither parent, nor any of his siblings.
