I thought they were all OO. Is this not the case?

There is a split within the Indian Orthodox. One group is under the Syriac Patriarch of Antioch while the other is Autocephalous, though both are canonically within the Miaphysite communion.

Edit: That's not to say things are always cordial, though.  :P

I should also add that some of the St Thomas Christians are Catholic, and further some are quasi-Protestant, all while retaining some form of the West Syrian Rite. I'm no expert on the matter, though.

I for one am thankful that HH Pope Tawadros is the one who wants to mediate this.  This is a very promising moment in OO history. I hope the same can be done with the Ethiopians one day as well.

Are both Ethiopian groups canonical?
