Taz is 2.5 and has broken the 25 lb barrier thanks to 1500 cal of a hypoallergenic formula a day.
He still has dysphagia, and we have zero clue why he aspirates fluids. All his fluids have to be thickened to honey consistency, and the flow has to be restricted to what a 4 month old could tolerate. The surgical attempt to fix it in February of this year didn't do the trick. He has failed 3 swallow studies since the surgery. He had a sleep study last week. We don't have the results yet, but they said that they had enough data from 4 hours of sleep. We are being referred to a special aerogastric section of the hospital. We hope to get the referral and get in ASAP.
Prayers for answers would be appreciated. Taz really wants to drink water. Very soon his baby brother will be drinking water from an open cup, and Taz won't be allowed to do so. That will be a very sad and frustrating milestone for the Taz-man.
