I'm Orthodox!
« on: April 24, 2005, 03:22:25 PM »
Dear Friends,

Yesterday, on Lazarus Saturday, I entered the Orthodox Faith at Holy Trinity Orthodox Church in Yonkers, NY. A long road from my Roman Catholic upbringing, Orthodoxy was the faith of my dearly departed maternal grandmother and great-grandparents. I am sure they guided my path from heaven!

Nice to be among you all!

Warm regards,
Alexis (Douglas)

Great!  I know that parish and have visited before. Our global moderator Anastasia (Kim) is a parishoner there too! Maybe some time I will meet you.

Past posts reflect stages of my life before my baptism and may not be accurate expositions of Orthodox teaching. Also, I served as an Orthodox priest from 2008-2013, before resigning.

Many Years, Alexis!  Looking at the icon you have posted, I take it your named after St. alexis Toth of Wilkes-Barre?  I can say the one thing I'm proud of is now being originally from Wilkes-Barre...we have our own saint, who walked our streets.  Also, being a former Roman Catholic, St. alexis is a good example for us.

Welcome! Glad you were able to find your way to the site!  I won't be around Yonkers for this Holy Week, Pascha or Bright Week, but I hope you enjoy the services.  Give everyone my regards :)
