Santeria Skulls siezed near Mexican airport.......
« on: June 26, 2014, 05:12:56 AM »
Mexican authorities discovered human skulls attempted to shipped to the U.S. for the practitioners of Santeria, a form of Roman Catholic superstition blended with West African voodoo. This kind of nonsense is frowned upon and condemned by the RCC.

Still, it's hard to believe that people believe in this stuff;

Human Skulls Found in Shipment of Teddy Bears in Mexico City

Ramirez was arrested Sunday and admitted having acquired the skulls, which he said were in demand by U.S. practitioners of Santeria, according to the prosecutor's office.

Santeria is a bunch of malarkey to me and anyone else who doesn't take it seriously. I have seen this wackiness first hand from some Hispanics that attempt to "curse" someone using this superstitious nonsense. However, they truly believe it works in some cases.

I guess that's the key point, you have to actually believe your being "cursed" or targeted in some way. Or "cured" for that matter.

Just curious though, is there any form of this supertstition out there roaming around within Orthodoxy?
