H.H Baselious Marthoma Didymus I; the Catholicose Emeritus of the Malankara Orthodox Syrian Church has entered eternal rest. His funeral will be held tomorrow at 10:30 AM Indian Standard Time at Mount Tabor Dayara (Monastary), Pathanapuram, Kerala State, India.  He was 94 years old.  He was the Mertopolitan of the Malabar diocese for a long time. He was enthroned as Catholicose in 2004. In 2010 he relinquished his position due to old age and health issues. He was succeeded by H.H Baselious Marthoma Paulose II.

Memory eternal.  He was a pious ascetic, and had a somewhat wry sense of humour from my limited recollections.

Forgive me if my posts have lacked humility or tact. Please note that some of my older posts -especially those pre-dating late 2012- may not necessarily reflect my current views.
