The Mcgunnegal Chronicles
« on: April 30, 2014, 03:11:56 PM »
Has anyone read or heard of this series?  They were advertised on AFR. Here is the Amazon review of the first book.

http://www.amazon.com/Into-Strange-Land-McGunnegal-Chronicles-ebook/dp/B00E44HL2S

It is apparently a trilogy of epic fantasy written by an Orthodox guy and he incorporates many sayings of the Church Fathers into the stories.  It looks rather interesting especially because I am a bit of a geek when it comes to stuff like this.
God bless!

Reading the title, I thought this would be about a Professor McGonagall spin-off.

I haven't heard about this series before, but it looks interesting.

I was on the Kindle already, so all I had to do was switch from browser to book-shopping app, and hey presto! ;D At that price, resistance was futile.

I only have a keyboard.  Is there something you want to tell us?

Oh.  I should probably stop strangling Denise now.  Sorry about that.  I get quite excited when I get a helpful person in my grasp.
God bless!

Look, Lennie was shot in the head because he got excited when petting a rabbit.  And the rabbit wasn't even a catechumen.

I finished The McGunnegal Chronicles. I liked them, but then I like most fantasy books. I thought the conclusion was a bit predictable and kind of seemed like the author was rushing to finish the story, but the adventure was quite interesting and fun to follow. If the author writes more, and it seems like he will, I will be picking them up. The concept of the story was pretty original considering how many times the fantasy genre has been done.
God bless!
