Actually St. Gregory said you should not commune after having a wet dream boys, nor should women have sex with their husbands while weening but that they can commune. A man who had a wet dream was to wash himself. Just while we are on the topic of weird things like underwear and whether to wear them. Well, it might have been St. Gregory on the wet dreams thing. I read it the other day and I thought it was from Gregory. No, jokers, I was not reading it just to read it. I was reading St. Bede, I think. Some of the laws, by our standard's today seem strange.

And Maria may be right on the underwear. There is so much simple, practical stuff you can do to prevent disease. She is not saying it is a sin before you jump on her. Its medical advice, not spiritual advice. It's not like you have to follow the advice. Chances are you will be fine, but that's the case with much advice. Do this and that with meat to prevent getting sick. But most people violate some of the rules, like not washing their hands after touching chicken but touching something else. Julia Child did it and pretty much showed she did not care for all that fuss over germs. That's why I like her. She even dropped a chicken on the floor once and laughed and said, "It's all fine as long as the guests don't know!" But that doesn't meant the doctors are not right. There's always that one time something happens.

Personally I think it's us men that would prefer women did follow that advice.  ;)

Anyone who doesn't like the direction a thread is going is free to put on some big boy/girl pants and stop posting on it. We're all adults here, and 'But they started it!' doesn't fly.

Girl pants?! Outrage!

You would prefer women not to wear underwear?

This explains so much

Actually, there was an article written by a male gynecologist who stated that women should not wear underpants as they promote a hot humid environment that encourages fungi and other infections.

This thread has it all.

Maybe they will move this to 'Other Topics,' sticky it, and unsticky the dating thread, to my everlasting joy.

This all reminds me of a scene on The Good Wife a couple weeks ago. Some hot woman in the governor's office (Alicia's husband) was thought not to be wearing underwear. Since the governor had a problem with prostitutes in the past (getting off on a technicality) he has to be careful to avoid even the hint of an affair, even if there is not one. So no one could think how to ask her if she was wearing underwear until Eli's daughter went right up and asked her. Then she pulled her skirt up! I can't remember if she was wearing them or not. I assume she was if she pulled her skirt up.

Denise?

Tri's . . . I think we know what I am not talking about.

Or are people just piling on James? Who will lead likely a more socially fulfilling life?

My money is on it. Takers anyone?

I don't recall offering a definitive answer in this thread, whether to the OP or anything else.  Did I miss my own brilliance?  It happens.  :)

I've been piling on wainscottbl much more than on James in this thread.  If I were James, I'd be disturbed and offended that you couldn't tell the difference.
Mor Ephrem is a nice guy.  Just say sorry and it will all be ok. Say I had things that were inside troubling me but I didn't know how to express appropriately. I will not behave that way again but I am seeking help.

Only God has been forever.

As far as that post is concerned, I have been seriously depressed for years at a time throughout my life, but I still kept my faith and felt that God was with me.

But I was being literal, no one lives forever, and even if you did you had to have been fed and brought up as a child , so you were technically not alone forever.

There is nothing wrong with a literal interpretation. Forever goes towards the past and future.  Lovesupreme's first post was also good (but limited to the future).

If you cannot remember everything, instead of everything, I beg you, remember this without fail, that not to share our own wealth with the poor is theft from the poor and deprivation of their means of life; we do not possess our own wealth but theirs.  If we have this attitude, we will certainly offer our money; and by nourishing Christ in poverty here and laying up great profit hereafter, we will be able to attain the good things which are to come. - St. John Chrysostom

The Latins think hell will be a bunch of fire and brimstone. The Orthodox know it will be an eternity with our enemies on OC.net. I know mine are going there and that since I'm on a good path to it, well, Lord help me. But oddly enough the prayers of my enemies here shall help. So keep praying for me--you know who your are, enemies!

Well, I tried usurping Obama's throne but since that divinity was too hard to get, I decided I'd go for the man upstairs. I've managed to get some support as a pretender. Of course some guy named Lucifer also claims a right to the throne. A bastard I think but he says he's legitimate.

Well, I tried usurping Obama's throne but since that divinity was too hard to get, I decided I'd go for the man upstairs. I've managed to get some support as a pretender. Of course some guy named Lucifer also claims a right to the throne. A bastard I think but he says he's legitimate.

Blasphemy is so funny and edgy!

I think you're standing on your hands, kelly. It's very amazing, but what you often put out of that so called mouth of yours...well let's just say it helps to stand on your feet. Puts the humours in their proper order and all that.

Pretty rich coming from you. Keep it classy, bro.

Why not just say where you think I'm talking out of? Or do you have an addiction to being verbose?

It's common knowledge that you secretly want to be born in early 17th century Russia.  As a serf or a royal, I know not.  Chances are serf.

Well, if I said what I want I would get in big trouble. I really do not feel like being on moderation. I do think you and Denise are always looking to call me out on something small like my so called blasphemy in a joke, that while perhaps verbose and not very funny, was harmless. It's like your miserable little self just enjoys stirring up the pot. It's like the miserable within yourself must ooze out lest you explode.

Please keep analyzing me, it makes my miserable cousin-hating black-hearted self laugh.

Oh I was not really analyzing you. But let's shake hands and agree to disagree. Peace, kelly? I really don't feel like two pages of arguing about the nature of woman as per the Aristotelian principles. I doubt you do either.

So here is my hand....well, I can't seem to get the thing in the computer, but imagine....

Wait! Wait! That will not do, kelly! You are a woman! I bow to you elegantly and kiss your hand. And then I shall kiss your cheeks in friendship. Shalom.

What's it like being alone forever? This:

My only weakness is, well, never mind

And you'll sleep, but they'll find you

Come back my dream into my arms, into my arms

London is drowning, and I live by the river

Uh...what is this? Are you role-playing being a medieval knight in this thread or something? ???

Just a few posts earlier, he claimed to be God.  I don't know what kind of God solicits to children under the age of 14....

This has become the un-unofficial Random Postings thread. Let it not be so! Let us not cast aside so easily the hard-won prize our fathers and sisters in the board-faith bestowed upon us!
