From the Holy Synod of the Universal Syrian Orthodox Church

Quote
With submission to the will of the Lord and great sadness we announce the passing into eternal life of His Holiness Moran Mor Ignatius Zakka I Iwas, the Patriarch of Antioch and all the East. His Holiness passed away after suffering a massive heart attack while in Germany for treatment.

May God rest him in peace and his memory be eternal.

May the memory of the Lord's servant, the High Priest Ignatius Zakka I, be eternal and may the Lord comfort our Syriac brethren and protect their Church!

"Not only is it unnecessary to adopt the customs of the Latin Rite to manifest one's Catholicism, it is an offense against the unity of the Church."

- Melkite Archbishop Joseph (Tawil), of blessed memory

Lord, have mercy!

May he rest in the bosom of the righteous saints, St. Peter, St. Ignatius, and St. Ephraim.
Vain existence can never exist, for "unless the LORD builds the house, the builders labor in vain." (Psalm 127)

If the faith is unchanged and rock solid, then the gates of Hades never prevailed in the end.

Memory eternal.  :'(
My only weakness is, well, never mind

And you'll sleep, but they'll find you

Come back my dream into my arms, into my arms

London is drowning, and I live by the river

Memory eternal.
I reject all that I wrote that isn't in accordance with the teachings of the Orthodox Church. Also, my posts reflect my opinions (present or former) and nothing else.

May his memory be eternal.
Psalm 37:23 The Lord guides a man safely in the way he should go.

Prov. 3: 5-6 Trust in the Lord with all your heart, lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will direct your paths.
