Jesus Christ, Son of God, have mercy on me .

« on: March 31, 2005, 10:31:43 PM »

Thank to all who prayed!
I was Chrismated and received into my parish Last Sunday (yes, western Easter)! It was beautiful and very meaningful and I still feel "floaty" for lack of a better term. The sacrament of Confession/Reconciliation was an awesome experience for a lifelong Protestant-the most beautiful words that I have ever heard were my Priest's words conveying Absolution! Also, just thinking about Eucharist for more than a few seconds brings tears!
I had no idea of the incredible depth and richness of experience that Chrismation would involve!

Rose
Joy to you in Christ!
Now, keep your guard up and pray harder - more than ever; maintain vigilance/watchfulness!
My priest warned me that I would come under spiritual attack after my chrismation and I didn't pay much attention and I got whacked about 3 mos later.

I struggled for the next 6 months to get back to where I was when I converted.

Bro Aiden,
Thanks for the warning! My priest didn't say anything but the idea makes perfect sense. The enemy would take any opportunity for firey dart launching. God is so good! I have felt really drawn to learn to and to begin  to pray the " hours" after my Chrismation.  It sounds like the Holy Spirit is leading, perhaps for my strengthening and protection.  Please pray that I will be  watchful and on the alert and recognize and bring the weak places in my character to Jesus for needed work! Ouch for you and your post-Chrismation attack!  I pray that God will " restore to you the joy of your salvation " and also "perfect, confirm, strengthen and establish you in Christ".
Thanks, Rose
