Mi ne estas esperantisto, sed mi parolas esperante.
Question a friend, perhaps he did not do it; but if he did anything so that he may do it no more.
A hasty quarrel kindles fire,
and urgent strife sheds blood.
If you blow on a spark, it will glow;
if you spit on it, it will be put out;
                           and both come out of your mouth

As an anti-Imperialist and as an Internationalist, I do feel the need to have some level of Esperanto.

I've been checking up on it lately. I'll keep it on my radar, but I have Japanese and French to do also.
I reject all that I wrote that isn't in accordance with the teachings of the Orthodox Church. Also, my posts reflect my opinions (present or former) and nothing else.

I am from a city Zamenhof was born, bean treated a few times in a hospital dedicated to him as well, if that counts as anything. Not sure how that fits into canons about jewish doctors, though.

I am from a city Zamenhof was born, bean treated a few times in a hospital dedicated to him as well, if that counts as anything. Not sure how that fits into canons about jewish doctors, though.

Zamenhof was I believe a Jew, which would render this point entirely moot.  I have mixed feelings about Esperanto and Interlingua however: Interlingua saw some uptake in the scientific community, but Esperanto seems to remain a hobby, and what is more, the learning curve for it is higher than several widely spoken “organic languages.”  For example, Afrikaans, or the Scandinavian languages except for Icelandic (which is extremely archaic and complex), or French, German and Spanish.   That said the Esperanto flag is pretty awesome looking.

Esperanto was much more than a hobby in its glory days, but then it faded off.

It's still a big deal in Brazil, however, due to enthusiasm among Spiritists. Some of them even believe it's heaven's language. The association is so strong that the major Esperanto-Portuguese-Esperanto dictionary was written by a guy with "Alan Kardec" as his first name, and a library once denied my attempted donation of an Esperanto book which had nothing to do with religion due to its secular policies. They were convinced any book in Esperanto was inherently religious.
