The absurdity of it all
« on: March 15, 2014, 04:04:02 PM »
Its totally absurd to think that -

God punishes people and sends them to Hell

Worship of a common Jewish virgin

The "fabricated" story of Christianity

Henceforth, there shall be Truth.

Even more absurd are far-flung Buddhist imaginations.

Boy, am I confused.
I reject all that I wrote that isn't in accordance with the teachings of the Orthodox Church. Also, my posts reflect my opinions (present or former) and nothing else.

Uh, I don't think the Orthodox Church definitively teaches that.

Worship of a common Jewish virgin
Can't be any worse than worshipping a judge.

The "fabricated" story of Christianity.
All fabrications stop short of the glory of God.

Dear Wesley,

Please see your doctor immediately. This confusion might be a drug-alcohol interaction as you have admitted yesterday that you do drink two beers.

Know that I am praying for you.

Maria
The memory of God should be treasured in our hearts like the precious pearl mentioned in the Holy Gospel. Our life's goal should be to nurture and contemplate God always within, and never let it depart, for this steadfastness will drive demons away from us. - Paraphrased from St. Philotheus of Sinai

Faith is useful for obeying God

Could you explain, because I've never heard of hell as a punishment.

I've never heard of a Christian church say they worship Mary.  (But other Christians accuse Mary worship on RC but RC's say they don't)

So those were really your two arguments against Christianity, and its not even taught or practiced.

Could you elaborate?  If you are delving into atheist arguments (or whatever) please emphasize.

Maria is aware of things we are not.....let's just leave it at that and let it be.

But you need faith to believe in Scientific theories.   Everything emerging from a tremendous amount of pressure seems rather 'absurd'.  BANG, and the next thing you know you have a floppy eared rabbit and a turtle.... and a 10 year old boy trying to catch each of them.

Its about reducing complex terminology into simple terms

For example, a person may suffer punishment because they were wicked in their former life.

Reincarnation is not true.  I think you are delving too much into Buddhism.

Add some lime juice and dark rum and you got something good to sip on.
