Nikolaos,

Forgive me, but if you don't think India contributed anything to the world other than curry, I don't believe you have the intellectual faculties necessary to discern whether or not "most of us" are bashing Greeks--or really anything else of reasonable importance.

My reply #13 was based on a few of your posts in the recent past in response to perceived Greek-bashing.  You react to the smallest perceived slight against Greeks, but have no problem dismissing and insulting other people, their cultures, and their religious beliefs.  And most of the "slights" are not actually slights, but merely uncomplimentary things you don't like to hear even if other Greeks disagree with your interpretation.  You need to develop a thicker skin, or learn how to listen and understand what people are actually saying, or both.

isnt that what they acuused Christ using demons to fight exsorsise demons?

Interesting that you mention this. And what did Christ say when accused of using demons to exorcise demons?

But when the Pharisees heard this, they said, “This man drives out demons only by the power of Beelzebul, the prince of demons.” But he knew what they were thinking and said to them, “Every kingdom divided against itself will be laid waste, and no town or house divided against itself will stand. And if Satan drives out Satan, he is divided against himself; how, then, will his kingdom stand?"

but i find it funny how Mor goes out of his way to lets say be contrary to me by bashing othodoxy?

No, I am not bashing Orthodoxy.  You look at images of Hindu gods and think they look evil.  You look at Orthodox icons and think they are reflections of truth.  But both types of imagery use symbols which, if understood too literally, will lead to misunderstandings: only by knowing how to "read" the image will you understand what it is trying to convey.  You already know how to do that, I presume, with regard to your own faith, which is why you think it's silly that anyone would think you worship a winged bull or a man with a dog's head.  But if you don't know what Hindu iconography symbolises, the conclusion should not be to boast "ALL THE GODS OF THE HINDUS ARE DEMONS HAHAHAHAHA!!" because of how you're interpreting what you see without a solid foundation on which to stand.  As others have suggested, learn a little about what they believe as they believe it, and not as you want to think they believe it.

If St Paul had your dismissive and condemnatory attitude, you would still be worshiping all those sex-crazed Olympian divinities your ancestors gave to the world.  Instead, he tried to understand what they were reaching for and filled the void with the truth of Christ and with Christ's love manifested in his own life, and converted your nation.  Let it not be so that you can boast about your good fortune and lord it over others.

i have never seen them before except for the snakes.

you mr. mor must have spent a lot of time on the internet looking for these things, and your still reaching and or flat out false/wrong.
get a life othere then waiting to try and belittle me in front of your little ocnet crew.
i should not consume your time so much, im not so important.

yo have issues. do yo realy think i have a thin skin and what you say botheres me?Huh dream on, you are just showing how petty you are.

also i suggest you take the time to read the posts before you respond. dont let your anger carry you away.

i explained to you that what i said abt hindus was to ilistrate the point. that greek or hindu or watever bashing is equally dispicable!

like i said before we should stop this bickering, its not the season for it. but you keep on going on trying feebally to prove some kind of point.

dont be so mad that i called you and you ocnet friends out when you guys went on a greek bashing spree. im not the only greek on here who sees this happening. its actually quite discusting to have you closeminded ppl on a religous forum. some of you are even priests, yuck.

I thought a moderator should have a level head and not go off on vendetas against otheres.autually i thought a mod is to stop just these things. you do the reverse. oh, i just noticed your from NY...

why no? the buddha was hindu.
By the time Siddhartha realized Buddhahood, he was not a 'Hindu'. To be Hindu, one must accept the divine authority of the Vedas. Siddhartha certainly rejected that authority by the time he realized Buddhahood, if not years before. Siddhartha had become a "Sramana", a member of a group of Indian meditators and yogis who rejected Vedic authority (or who never recognized such authority in the first place). Jainism would be another religion that, like Buddhism, comes from this Sramana movement. Many scholars argue that the Sramanas were present in India before the entrance of the Vedic Sanskrit-speakers.

also fyi: budhisim cane from hinduisim.
...uh...No.

why no? the buddha was hindu.
Many scholars argue that the Sramanas were present in India before the entrance of the Vedic Sanskrit-speakers.

yea ok, your right. i was just i guess saying the buddha was hindu, in india and that budhisim then traveled to various areas from there. i forget you guys are so pricise with everything. Grin but yes you are right and i am wrong. hinduisim and budhisim are not the same. im just glad im outa there.

I know next to nothing about Jainism, except that they are very strict frutarians.

you take things out of contects with these pics.

That's all, ladies and gentlemen.  I made my point.  For your convenience, I've omitted the remaining stupidity.

My mom says baklava is really Armenian.

I don't think I've ever eaten anything Armenian I didn't like.  I even drink my non-Armenian coffee out of a St Nersess Seminary coffee mug because it is better that way.

Well Honey, (why yes I mean this in the most sarcastic voice possible)

I suspect he was out living his life...not sitting behind a computer.....like some folks.  He probably had ten better things to do then tell you that you are wrong all day.

Have a nice day now....Wink
