Prayers for Sammy and his family
« on: February 22, 2014, 01:31:44 PM »
Sammy was arrested and deported to Tijuana by the border patrol yesterday while escorting his step-daughter to elementary school. Sammy and his family have been living with me since October when he was released from the hospital following a serious accident. He will never be able to return because he is now an invalid. He is a very kind, generous, loving, soft-spoken person who never raised his voice and read the bible daily. I cannot give you his current needs but he does need prayers so that he can overcome whatever hardship comes before him.

Please pray for his wife and two step-daughters during this trying time. Please pray for me that I may care for their needs.

Lord, have mercy!
If you cannot remember everything, instead of everything, I beg you, remember this without fail, that not to share our own wealth with the poor is theft from the poor and deprivation of their means of life; we do not possess our own wealth but theirs.  If we have this attitude, we will certainly offer our money; and by nourishing Christ in poverty here and laying up great profit hereafter, we will be able to attain the good things which are to come. - St. John Chrysostom

I reject all that I wrote that isn't in accordance with the teachings of the Orthodox Church. Also, my posts reflect my opinions (present or former) and nothing else.

Lord, have mercy.
Psalm 37:23 The Lord guides a man safely in the way he should go.

Prov. 3: 5-6 Trust in the Lord with all your heart, lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will direct your paths.

Thank you Asteriktos. I spoke with Sammy three nights ago. He is safe and staying somewhere in Puebla where he is caring for his father who is sick. The two girls unfortunately are taking advantage of the decreased supervision.
