Prayer to Forgive Enemies
« on: January 26, 2014, 03:19:18 PM »
There are a few people I find myself hard not to hold a grudge against in my heart. Usually I find it pretty easy to forgive but some offenses go deeper and hurt more, even though I do not want to I find hatred in my heart against these people. The devil will not leave me alone with angry thoughts towards these people, with accusations against their faults. Reading the Gospel of Matthew and what Our Lord says and the Lord's Prayer, I want to forgive the faults of my enemies. Prayers would be appreciated. God forgives us for forgiving, and holding hatred and a grudge in our heart's is what causes us to be judged harshly. But it's easier said than done because sometimes offenses run deep into the human heart. I am not the type to normally hold grudges against people. I think it foolish and a sign of weakness. But every man has his weak point because he is human. I know mine. The passion that makes you want to hit someone or insult them is hard to resist sometimes, whether in person or in the heart.

True patriotism sometimes requires of men to act exactly contrary, at one period, to that which it does at another, and the motive which impels them — the desire to do right — is precisely the same.

In the attempt to forgive, it helps to see ourselves as the chief sinner, worst of all. Then it is a little easier to understand others being weak, and doing those things that hurt us, pray for them, and then we will be forgiven, I know it is harder to do, I have my own demons who want me to hate my enemies, and it is easier to hate than to love when you are hurt by others.
The Lord gathers his sheep, I fear I am a goat. Lord have mercy.

Lord have mercy.
He will come again with glory to judge the living and the dead. His kingdom will have no end.
