So a friend that works for my dad sometimes is in jail for a year. He is guilty of his crimes and has a history of crimes like this but he had not been to jail in a while. His last prison term was for burglary and he has quite a few felonies. The country attorney was nice enough to drop the felonies that would have gotten him ten years in prison, but he is serving a year in the county jail for the crimes he agreed to plead guilty to. He further decided not to show up to jail when he was supposed to and so now look's like he won't get work release. But supposedly my dad said he is claiming to have "found God" in jail. This is a common claim, one he has made before when he said he was going to reform his life, but I ask you to pray for him. Some of the reasons that lead to his history of theft and violence have to do with him having mental issues, though he is not insane and knows what is right and wrong. Still poverty and circumstance have in a sense formed this habit into him, so keep him in your prayers that his year in jail does him good and that he truly finds God and keeps Him. He has the desire to reform his life, but it's hard to do. I think we law abiding people do not always understand why people enter into a life of crime. The issues are not black and white which is why we must pray for them. Lord, have mercy.
