I think I have made my position regarding the Syrian crisis rather clear, and I have discussed the war with others (some who agree with me, others who don't) on the private fora. While we may not all unanimously agree on which side to support, I think we can all agree that the Christians of Syria have been some of the most unfortunate victims in this brutal conflict and that they are in desperate need of our prayers. While we abide in the comfort of our homes our brothers and sisters abroad are slaughtered, oppressed, and live in constant fear for their lives. Please pray for the Christians of Syria and spread the word regarding their plight to others. Taking a mere moment of your time to pray for them may make a world of difference.
Lord, have mercy on the Christians of Syria. Clothe the naked among them, grant shelter to their homeless, quench their thirst, satiate their hunger, console their grief, confirm their faith, grant them courage in the face of the adversary, and victory over their enemies. May the Church of Antioch become a beacon of light to all the servants of Christ, serving as a reminder that we are not to love the world or anything that is in it, for the world and all its vain desires shall pass away. Grant this through the prayers of the Theotokos, Sts. Peter and Paul, and all of the new martyrs of Syria.
And when he had found him, he brought him unto Antioch. And it came to pass, that for a whole year they assembled themselves with the church, and taught many people. And the disciples were called Christians first in Antioch. -Acts 11:26
