Lebanese programmers ruin sex forever
« on: January 21, 2014, 01:03:34 PM »
"Would you wear a pair of Google glasses while having sex? Would being able to see what your partner is seeing make you more or less likely to? Sex with Glass, a new app in development for Google Glass, hopes the answer is yes.

The project started off with the question 'how can we make sex more awesome with Google Glass' says Sherif Maktabi, the founder of the project...

...The cornerstone of Sex with Glass is the shared live streaming: 'See what your partner can see… Just say 'OK glass, it’s time' and Glass will stream what you see to each other."

Not to mention that it's like finding better things to do during sex, but why would one want to see oneself?  :o

Why do women keep their eyes closed during sex?  Because they cannot stand to see a man having fun.
I would be happy to agree with you, but then both of us would be wrong.

So since your partner is seeing you presumably -unless thy close their eyes fantasyzing about someone else you'd be seeing yourself . Good sex must contain some narcissism   but this is taking it to a new level.

I don't see how this would help a heterosexual's sex life. if you're seeing what your partner sees, you're seeing yourself. seeing thier own sex wouldn't do much for the average heterosexual would it? just guessing.

I don't think sexual orientation has anything to do with it. I agree with augustin: who but the most extreme narcissists wants to watch themselves having sex while they're having sex? It's bizarre.

Several times in this thread, I've been reminded of a particular scene from the movie American Psycho, and therefore I've also had Phil Collins playing in my head.

Actually it is the very structure of sex writ in a rather vulgar way and yet there it is. The most terrifying thing for a man is how a woman sees him during sex, if he is hetero. Must I go through the typical sex talk and thoughts males have about themselves or the fed opinions they give to their mates? Or if they are a little less honest about such insecurities how they choose a "pure" partner which is to a say a partner who cannot judge them against another or will be unwilling to?

This male anxiety about how they are seen is actually one way in which the ecstatic structure of sex manifests. What is interesting about something like the sex glass is not that it allows men to see what the women they are with do, but rather allows them to more properly control what the woman is seeing.

Sex is never between two people. Saints likely excepted, perhaps my fallen nous can't conceive of another way, but I am not sure if even the Saints are merely have sex with another person.

If I can brook a slightly vulgar example to demonstrate how you mistaken, it is not for nothing it is called the "money shot". It is not for women that pr0n is structured as such.

Consider the pscyhe of a hetero male who wants to man with a larger penis, who can have sex in a more "potent" manner, who produces more powerful ejaculate in greater volume, and attempts to have his own orgasm in concert with the said man.

Whether they like it or not or will admit it or not, you don't even need to see the behavioral studies done on men who consume pr0n, just watch it. It is structured for men to relate to men.

This goes to why men have penis enlargement surgery, use viagra "recreationally", get turned on by having sex with other men's partners, it is to impress other men.

Frankly, I find it all disgusting and don't understand it, but perhaps that supposed virtue is because of my own anxiety?

That is interesting, and I wouldn't have thought of it as a reason for wanting these glasses.

Sex is never between two people.

I am not sure that is true.  I could never get my wife to agree to a three way, so all of my experience is just with two.  Well, I mean, since I have been married.  I don't like to think back to those lonely times when the only one that would have sex with me was me.

Most people want a level of semi- obscurity when having sex. Certainly not neon lights. I'd assume even this'd that like to watch themselves in the mirror. You wanna watch an idealized image of yourself which is not possible when there is too much light.

I know you are joking and likely get my point. One of my favorite things about sex is not the typical three way nonsense or fantasizing about others. That is too obvious, but literally being with the person you with when you are with them. You double, triple, etc, the person you are with.

I am not sure how explicit we are allowed to be here, but men don't just get erections and push them into vaginas. This is nonsense. We have some fantastic relationship with the person we are with which is to say that even something like, discussing previous encounters memories, the possibility of repeating the act into the future, etc introduces multiplicity beyond duality within sex.

Sex is always reproductive in the two senses of the Latin prefix re (for you Latinists) there is a repetitious structure in its very physical nature which is mirrored in the psyche's need repeat the act as well and a emphasizing aspect of production in sex. So sex isn't just producing something again, but something greater production in some sense.

Imagine the stupidest, simple sexual act. Even then, you have a man asking something like, do you like that? Who is he asking? Forget future and past iterations, even in the so-called present, the woman is increased. How do you  answer that question as a woman? Yes?

Then the guy can ask it again: you like that don't you?

LOL! Who on earth is he talking to? Then there is the mentioning of mere current possibilities in the which the mere mentioning is the whole point. Who exactly are doing such acts? The acts are satiated as they increase arousal and yet are never engaged in but somehow feel as though they were. So who engaged in those acts?

In the end, you wife isn't your wife. She is a lot of things but she isn't your wife. And only because radically she isn't your wife is the reason she be so.

I wouldn't talk about others' wives like this as people seem to be touchy about the issue and flip out, but I hope you don't take my point as insulting even if it sounds like gibberish.

You don't understand sex properly. Mirrors are a symptom of a more radical structure which we all are engaged in.

In any case, I think it is clear I find sex to be a rather hilarious and fascinating thing. Sex glass is just makes more clear so to speak the latent structure of things.

And to ZealousZeal, when you no longer have strong social structuring in our perverse times, what other possibility do you have as a man? Certain countries behead adulteresses, we have to give them "erotica", Sex in the City, Girls, and now sex glass.

Really, beheading sounds better.

Orthonorm,

When I use certain forms of two-way video chat, the other person's video feed to me contains, in some corner, a small square. That square shows my camera's video feed back to me, I.E. myself as transmitted to the other person. I found out quickly that I had to disable this small square, as I would constantly focus on the square, and would alter my blinking rate, jaw position, etc. to fit how I wanted to be seen.

What is so horrific for me about the Google Glass is that it transposes this same problem into "in the flesh" interactions, double entendre intended.

Or, as I used to say, having an orgy with Rosie Palms and her five sisters.

Orthonorm, I am not sure that I get what you are saying, but it is not because of the manner that you are presenting it.  I think that you are clearly describing a set of circumstances, but they are not ones that I am wired to understand.  Your description of sex seems, to me, to describe the activity in a manner more that a woman would understand (and I am not saying that in a negative manner).  I am wired more in a manner that almost totally separates sex from "love", or whatever else you are portraying.  I do not "multiply" my wife when we are having sex.  I am primarily satisfying the one eyed wonder worm so I can get back to enjoying my wife's company through conversation and other means.  Perhaps this is disfunctional, or perhaps it is just I am getting old and my days of "romance" are long over.  Or, perhaps "romance" has simply taken a different meaning for me.
I would be happy to agree with you, but then both of us would be wrong.
