Intense Pain
« on: January 15, 2014, 09:42:55 AM »
I've been having attacks of intense bowel pains about once a week for the past three months.  The attacks are stabbing and debilitating for anywhere between 2 and 10 hours.  They are so bad that I had to go to the hospital recently and receive IV morphine.

I have a take-home narcotic, but it only takes down the pain a notch when I have an attack.  The doctors don't know what is causing the problem.  A CT scan I had recently showed "normal."  I had small bowel resection surgery a year ago, and large bowel resection the year before, so my entrails aren't the same as everyone else.

The attacks are disrupting my life since the attacks come from nowhere, and when they hit, I am incapacitated for the rest of the day, and to a lesser degree for the next two days, when I'm still very sore.  I've been to my primary doctor who is sending me to a G.I. specialist.   Please pray that the specialist identify and cure the problem, or that I am miraculously healed beforehand.  Thanks.

Lord have mercy.
I reject all that I wrote that isn't in accordance with the teachings of the Orthodox Church. Also, my posts reflect my opinions (present or former) and nothing else.

Lord have mercy.

St. Pantaleimon, pray for us.
My only weakness is, well, never mind

He said he had a horrible house
I looked in it and learnt to shut my mouth

Come back my dream into my arms, into my arms

London is drowning, and I live by the river

Lord, have mercy.
Psalm 37:23 The Lord guides a man safely in the way he should go.

Prov. 3: 5-6 Trust in the Lord with all your heart, lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will direct your paths.

Lord have mercy!

I seem to recall that you also had back trouble.  Is that still flaring up also?

I'll pray for both issues.

May the Prince of the Martyrs who is swift to aid, intercede for you. May The Lord of the Martyr of Lydda have mercy on you . Amen!
To God be the Glory in all things! Amen!

Only pray for me, that God would give me both inward and outward strength, that I may not only speak, but truly will; and that I may not merely be called a Christian, but really be found to be one. St.Ignatius of Antioch.Epistle to the Romans.

Lord, have mercy!
If you cannot remember everything, instead of everything, I beg you, remember this without fail, that not to share our own wealth with the poor is theft from the poor and deprivation of their means of life; we do not possess our own wealth but theirs.  If we have this attitude, we will certainly offer our money; and by nourishing Christ in poverty here and laying up great profit hereafter, we will be able to attain the good things which are to come. - St. John Chrysostom

Lord, have mercy and heal your servant.
"For, by its immensity, the divine substance surpasses every form that our intellect reaches. Thus we are unable to apprehend it by knowing what it is. Yet we are able to have some knowledge of it by knowing what it is not." - St. Thomas Aquinas, Summa contra gentiles, I, 14.
