Hi, I used to post here, but it was a long time ago...I'd be surprised if anyone remembered me  Wink.  I've recently become a catechumen in the Antiochian Orthodox Church, and should be received into the Church by summer.  I'm insanely indecisive, and it took me almost five years to make up my mind on this one (considering I'm 19, that seems like forever lol).  I would appreciate any prayers for an auspicious start.  My name (at least for the next couple of months  Wink) is Ryan.

Prayer, of course,  Ryan!
And we do remember you. Don't worry, I've had friends take 19 years to convert.

As St John Chrysostom said:

"For the Lord is gracious and receives the last even as the first.
He gives rest to him that comes at the eleventh hour,
as well as to him that toiled from the first.
To this one He gives, and upon another He bestows.
He accepts the works as He greets the endeavor.
The deed He honors and the intention He commends."

May your path be straight and enlightened.

I myself do not place time constraints on such a important issue, all things come to fulfilment, God willing.

No, don't have an exact date yet, but probably sometime in June.

Lord have mercy!

Ryan,

I also remember you, and I wish you well on your journey.

BTW, I took over five years to convert (but not as long as the 19 quoted elsewhere in here). I think Arystokles' excerpt was very appropriate---what matters is that you now are ready for your new birth.

Donna Rose,

I also am praying for you! May 15 will be a great day indeed! Xroniapolla!

Donna Rose,

Please accept my apologies regarding my use of "Xroniapolla"--I did not mean to confuse you. It's a (poorly) Anglicized version of the Greek for "Many Years".

Unfortunately, I do not have a Greek font on my computer here (back home, with my wife and kids). I am hoping that when I return to school from Spring Break one of my many seminarian brothers may help me to install a Greek font on my computer there (ahem--hint, hint...)

Anyway, the point is that I congratulate you on your decision and wish you many years in the embrace of the Church!
