Fancy links
« on: November 03, 2013, 06:31:47 PM »
I am starting to notice fancy link within users' posts. Accompanied with fancy icons. Has new way of advertising been introduced or am I to drunk?

Interesting.  I don't have that issue, and I use a PC and a Mac.

Mor no longer posts on OCNet.  He follows threads, posts his responses daily, occasionally starts threads, and responds to private messages when and as he wants.  But he really isn't around anymore.

It's a spam injection plugin. Go to your list of plugins and see which of them doesn't belong there, write down the name, go to control panel and delete it.

Yeah, there are many types of plugins that will do that.  Programs like Skype will highlight any phone number and give you a skype dial option.  Other plugins/spyware/maleware will do this to send your link clicking to "appropriate" advertisers to dump you full of spam.

Of course if you are by chance using linux, it most likely was a browser plugin.
