Prayers for Coping
« on: October 20, 2013, 03:53:47 AM »
I'm a living train wreck.  I won't go into details or the specific things I'm struggling to cope with, but let's just say the world changed and I didn't change with it.  Every day is a new experience in terror.  I'm coping badly.  I need strength, patience, and understanding, and I have all but three of those things.  Prayers would be greatly appreciated.
Some of my questions might appear patently stupid to those well-versed in Orthodoxy, but I'm brand new, having no background in the faith.  Please grant me a great deal of patience and consideration as I learn the basics.

O Son of the Living God, have mercy on your servant!

To thee, O Most Holy Mother of the Word Incarnate, I cry, O thou mother of God made flesh. Pray for me, a wretched member of this world, that I may find happiness in this world and in the next.

May God have mercy on you. Pray for me also as I often feel the same way. Keep fighting the good fight.

"I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live: And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die [...] These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world." -The Lord Jesus Christ

Lord have mercy.

I will remember you tonight when I pray the Paracleisis to the Most Holy Theotokos.
The memory of God should be treasured in our hearts like the precious pearl mentioned in the Holy Gospel. Our life's goal should be to nurture and contemplate God always within, and never let it depart, for this steadfastness will drive demons away from us. - Paraphrased from St. Philotheus of Sinai

Lord have mercy on your servant and protect her.
The term planet earth is an innovation which has arisen in recent centuries with the error of heliocentrism.

If one wants to confess a pure doctrine of Orthodoxy, they should be careful not to refer to the earth as a planet, unlike the current Pope as well as Patriarch Kirill and Patriarch Bartholomew, who regularly speak in error when they refer to our planet earth.

Lord, have mercy.  Lady Theotokos and St. Mary of Egypt, pray for us.
Happy shall he be, that shall take and dash thy little ones against the rock. Alleluia.

Once Christ has filled the Cross, it can never be empty again.

Lord, have mercy, ease your burden, and grant you peace.
Conquer evil men by your gentle kindness, and make zealous men wonder at your goodness. Put the lover of legality to shame by your compassion. With the afflicted be afflicted in mind. Love all men, but keep distant from all men.

Lord have mercy.

Do you have a Christian counselor?

Better yet, open Galatians, and read that epistle by St. Paul.

St. Paul, intercede to God for us.
