While the brain sleeps, it clears out harmful toxins, a process that may reduce the risk of Alzheimer's, researchers say.

During sleep, the flow of cerebrospinal fluid in the brain increases dramatically, washing away harmful waste proteins that build up between brain cells during waking hours, a study of mice found.

I saw an article about this on the BBC and thought about posting it.  Maybe the toxins prevented me.  Smiley

Viewing that photo is enough to keep me awake at night.
From where did you get that zombie party?

Oh, please don't tell.

EDIT: Great! Awesome! Wonderful! You deleted that photo. It was positively nightmarish.

The Kilchers live just down the road. Story goes, Jewel Kilcher was sweet on a local Old Believer boy but that that love went unrequited. When she got famous, she used to send him invitations to every one of her concerts though he never went. Isn't that just sad?

I love the sleep where you are so dead tired that when you go to sleep you are so deep into it that it feels like you are close to death.

I love the sleep where you are so dead tired that when you go to sleep you are so deep into it that it feels like you are close to death.

Come heavy sleep, the image of true death;
and close up these my weary weeping eies:
Whose spring of tears doth stop my vitall breath,
and tears my hart with sorrows sign swoln cries:
Com and possess my tired thoughts, worne soule,
That living dies, till thou on me be stoule.

Come shadow of my end, and shape of rest,
Allied to death, child to blakefact night:
Come thou and charm these rebels in my breast,
Whose waking fancies doe my mind affright.
O come sweet sleepe; come, or I die ever:
Come ere my last sleep comes, or come never.

How do they know what it feels like to be close to death?

If sleeping possibly reduces your risk of Alzheimer's...

And smoking possibly blocks the plaques associated with Alzheimers...

We can only wait for the Daily Mail to run a headline, "Sleeping has same health consequences as smoking."

Flawed research can give interesting results. Was that research funded by the American tobacco industries?
