Eastern Catholic Sedevacantism?
« on: October 10, 2013, 09:19:25 PM »
This man, "Patriarch" Elijah is part of the Byzantine Catholic Ukrainian Patriarchate. Is he a legitimate Eastern Catholic entity? And on what basis does he have these views?

He excommunicates Popes Benedict and John Paul. He also goes after His Holiness Theophilos of Jerusalem.

Does anybody know about this man, if so, what's his problem?

It just doesn't make any sense. How can an Eastern Catholic consider the Pope Orthodox anyway? Also, why does he go into Orthodox affairs, as an Eastern Catholic, he shouldn't consider Orthodox "inside the Church" should he?

And why does he consider the Vatican II Popes anathema, but not the post-Schism Popes, what is going on here?

And who the heck is this guy anyway? It is just plain strange.

Is the UOGCC legitimate?  No.  Is Fr. Elijah legitamate?  No.  Only after his schism in 2009 did he claim to have been ordained a bishop secretly during the Communist era.  However, Metropolitan Volodomyr gave account of all his ordinations and Fr. Elijah's was not one.
