Kerdy, I think if you weren't so darned sanctimonious, it might be easier to consider the legitimacy of your statements.

Matthew 24:9 doesn't mention hamburgers, IIRC.  Unless you mean hamburgers will lead to tribulation if we don't stand up to this NOW.

Why the reference to kitchen appliances? Even though I don't like Putin's policies very much, I approve of the law against homosexual propaganda, because it defines a clear position for Russians to take in a moral regard. This is a start, but more needs to be done, both legislatively and outside the government, to prevent Russia from turning into Sodom and Gomorrah.

On a serious note.  I went through a time of depression in my life during college that lasted so long that once I sought treatment and it lifted, I felt very empty because I was used to the strong emotional despair always being there that I in a way missed the strong force of emotion.  I don't know if others who have experienced longlasting depression have had a similar experience or not, but it was quite strange.

Even though I've never had any serious depression (that I'm aware of anyway), I understand what you're saying.  We become attached to and "fond" of almost any strong emotion that hangs around for a long time.  When it goes, it's as if we've lost a "friend".  Not a very good friend, mind you, but one who was with us through thick and thin.

If I has some uberweird sexual predilections such as that fellow in England, you can be danged sure that I would not be calling the fire dept.  I would figure out some other way to get that thing off.  It's a toaster for pete's sake, it has to be able to be disassembled somehow...

The problem here is you're assuming the person who thinks it perfectly reasonable to abuse a toaster in such a way is going to be able to think his way through disassembling a toaster. There comes a point when logic and linear thinking are off the table.

There is so much wrong with this world... Embarrassed

Edit: I feel like I should direct my atheist/agnostic friends to that article whenever they make a claim about how "outdated" the supposedly backwards laws of the Bible are...after all, we're not a bunch of base, animalistic nutcases who need to be reminded by God that we cannot marry goats or whatever, unlike those superstitious tribesmen in the Bible. We've "evolved". Pfft. Tell that to the poor ER doctors who have to deal with this stuff!

Yeah, if that were true there would be an epidemic of such incidents across the country, and parents would be warned to keep their toasters out of reach of their teenage sons.

This is worse than what Pussy Riot did, because an altar can be reconsecrated, but once the Eucharist is eaten and used as profane food and not as what it should be, nothing can be done except apply ecclesiastical penalties to the offender
So what did Pussy riot succeed in doing anyway? Did they desecrate the church or do some kind of occult ritual, or what?

They succeeded in making jackasses out of themselves.  They sang an obscene song in the form of a prayer with an anti-Putin message.  And they did it in a church.

I think it is unfair to claim that this restaurant is purposefully and directly mocking the Eucharist.  They are heavy metal fans and this burger is an homage to the band Ghost.  For reference:

I finally got around to listening to the band on Youtube.  Prior to listening to "Secular Haze", the Youtube ad was for Chris Tomlin's new CD.  I thought that was funny.

EDIT:  Ghost is a really lame band.

The central rite of our faith and by extension Christ is being mocked and disrespected. No big deal!!!!
hahahaha its so funny what is even more funny is those silly fundamentalist bumpkins being outraged at an insult to our Savior and Lord Jesus Christ...don't they realize that it is right and normal and even praiseworthy
in our culture to spit upon the cross of Christ?

Is your statement real or sarcastic? It is impossible to tell with typed text unless you use "irony quotes" for sarcasm. Why would a group be wearing Satanic crosses, have people dressed as Darth Vader, and a person in a mockery of Western bishops‘ Vestment, if not as an insult?

Be aware there are more than a few posters here who think that sort of musical culture is good fun. (Quite more than a few, actually.)
