You are American. No surprise Tongue
European History would probably be quite a bit more mundane if that map were true.  Wink

Interesting yet understandable that most are the language of neighboring countries.  (Next most often, as you point out, the minority for which the state has been named.)

On the point of Switzerland, German is supposedly the majority language, but I had a friend from Brunswick who worked there and said that whoever said that the Swiss spoke German was lying.   Tongue

Yeah, I count at least 8 other indigenous languages that the country wasn't named for. Welsh, Sami, Mirandese, Frisian, Sicilian, Tatar, Lezgi, and Catalan.

I stopped counting after Ireland.  Thus, my number is correct.  (I started counting from top right going clockwise.)

Do we have a map of where Jesus or His family went? Egypt, Sidon (Lebanon), modern Jordan and the Golan Heights?

I was surprised how common Hungarian is in Romania and Slovakia. And I was surprised to see that Romani, the gypsy language, is the number two language in Hungary!

Also, should Tatar (Mongolian) be considered "Turkic"? I would have expected it to be east Asian. Also, the Huns came from Mongolia too. I would have expected them to be East Asian too.

My guess is that they were just drilling one of the sink holes that are found on the island but it was not really a special burial place or anything.

There are lots of stories, like it could be from the Crusaders and hence the cross, or that it could be from pirates.

There's a fairly sizable hungarian enclave in the center of Romania, as well as other populations along the border.

Also, should Tatar (Mongolian) be considered "Turkic"? I would have expected it to be east Asian. Also, the Huns came from Mongolia too. I would have expected them to be East Asian too.

Tatar was probably originally a Mongolian tribal name but it has since been identified with the group of Kypchak-Turkic tribes that was dominant after Genghis Khan's death.
