Ok, so my brain has slipped a few gears, but I was reading posts and suddenly started pondering the significance of the stars under the posters names, in particular colour and number.  Rainbow striped stars are for admin/mods, it seems.  But what is the pattern for the other colours: green, silver/grey, gold, purple.  Mine are purple; is that the secret sign for G.H.?  laugh

 And then there's the number; it doesn't seem to relate to how many posts as Ania with 766 has 3 while MsGuided has 4 with 389.

What does it all mean? Inquiring minds (or at least fuzzy ones) want to know.

You're reading too much into it as I arbitrarily just picked random colors and numbers for folks.

I need a new "scale" if you will, so if you have anything creative please voice it.

No, it must be part of some subtle secret code.  More analysis will crack it (mumble, mutter) numbers, letters, .. :homework:

but at least here it wouldn't trace back to freemasonry.

 :laugh3:

Oh well, sometimes a star is *just* a star,  but the stripes *do* mean Those Who Have the Power, it seems to me.

Ebor, who sometimes may ponder too much.

lol, this is how it goes....

Administrators=5 rainbow stars
Global Mods=4 rainbow stars
Section Mods=3 rainbow stars
Mods=5 gold stars

Newbies/Jr. Members=1/2 green stars
Members/Sr. Member=3/4 silver stars
Elders/High Elders=5/6 purple stars
OCnet gurus=7 gold stars

You'll also note that post count determines status and thus how many stars you have, but other titles such as mod/admin overrules in determining your stars.

Hope this quenches all star curiosity Wink

That mod/admin status overrules how many posts you have in determining number of stars works, except that even if you have enough posts to be a high elder/guru, you still only get five stars, not six or seven.
